one weird thing happenned yesterday tho, a Telstra OTA was downlaoded? tried running it, but it booted me into TWRP recovery and did nothing else (was obviously looking for stock recovery)
is this rom still pulling down telstra OTAs?
I don't see why it wouldn't pull down OTAs, like you say though it won't automatically apply the OTA due to your custom recovery. I think you want to be careful taking the OTA because you don't want it to stomp on your recovery, bootloader, touchpanel firmware etc.

Hi guys, I've run into a bit of a problem. Flashed this ROM on my fiance's XL, and it won't even boot past the Quietly Brilliant splash screen. Full wipes were performed, flashed Telstra radio as recommended. In fact this phone has trouble booting any Sense ROM. It will boot into Hatka, but only after boot looping for 30-60 mins. Same with Viper. Thought I'd try a more stock ROM.and see if it'd help, but no dice. Any ideas guys? I was thinking I might need to RUU but am dreading having to do that.

EDIT: Hatka will not boot at all so it looks like no Sense ROMs will boot.

No I haven't, we're both on hboot 1.09 so we've never needed to.

Yeah I think so. I just can't understand why AOSP roms have absolutely no trouble booting. But bluetooth is broken on AOSP roms, and when I was able to get Sense to boot, bluetooth worked. Plus wifi is broken across both ROM types. I guess I'll need to gain s-off and run an RUU.

If you're on the 1.09 hboot then I think the most recent RUU (1.89) will leave that alone, as it contains the 1.09 hboot. Eg. you shouldn't need to S-OFF first as you can still do it after the RUU. Just a thought.

No, that's got 1.14 hboot.

You should S-OFF first if you can.

But once you've soff'd your phone it doesn't matter

You just flash 1.09 hboot afterwards...

Good luck

I'm still around if it goes bad.

Forgive my ignorance, but what would happen if I downloaded the latest OTA update?

It would fail to flash - unless you are S-OFF and have the last (2.40) update installed with stock recovery.
