[DOWNLOAD] Consolidated audio: alarms, notifications, ringtones and camera/ui sounds

Search This thread
I've uploaded a consolidated copy of all the alarms, notifications, ringtones and ui sounds from the roms that have been posted here with duplicates removed to :-

http://www.solidfiles.com/d/cb7b321e8b/ Extract and copy to your internal storage (or to /system/media if you have root)

For completeness, here are the boot animations :-

http://www.solidfiles.com/d/ba2db7e6d4/ Extract and rename desired animation to bootanimation.zip and copy to /system/media (root required)

The above ripped from cm11, infusion, kk+1.1 and nexus builds with thanks and credit to original coders+cooks

Edit: Be careful with permissions guys. I find that 0755 rwx r-x r-x works for me on any files/folders created. Overall I'd advise just to stick the audio folder in external storage rather than the system partition. Messing with your system partition can stop android from completing boot.

Thanks!

I'm having a problem though :/ I'm on uk retail 4.4.2 rooted with CWM, I've copied the audio folder to /system/media and merged. When I try to choose a ringtone or notification, choosing "media storage" to select the tone, I can see all of the new tones but when I click on any of them they all just do a "dong" noise, whereas before it would play the ringtone/notification. The same happens when I try to change the alarm tone. I can play the ringtones fine in ES file explorer, so it seems the copying went fine.

I just tested the alarm using a different tone and it played the correct alarm tone when it went off, but any ideas how I can get the "media storage" option to play the tones when I am selecting them as it did previously?

Hope this makes sense, it's 2:42am and I've just finished a 14hr shift... I'm probably doing something really obviously wrong!

EDIT: I've tried clearing the cache/data in the media storage app, but after a reboot I'm getting the same "dong" instead of the ringtone previews still... :/

@tee_pot try setting permissions as in
captureqsx.png
or put them all in internal storage instead.

Permissions are as you suggest:uploadfromtaptalk1389956952979.jpg

I'm at work so can't try on the sdcard yet... I guess I'll have to delete all from system to avoid duplicates showing up?

Something odd going on. Using various root explorers I can paste into /system/media/audio but then the files/folders disappear. It works if I just put an audio folder in the user storage

finally a day off so I do some testing!

I can paste fine into /system/media/audio (I use FX as the file browser with the root addon) and the files and folders are there. They even appear when you select them in ringtone/notification/alarm... for me it's just the preview that doesn't work, just get an error "dong" noise... selecting seems to work ok though, at least for alarm and ringtone (not tested notifications yet).

I just copied the alarms, notifications and ringtones folders from /system/media/audio to /sdcard/media/audio and the preview works fine!

Definitely something weird happening, but at least I can preview the tones again...
