[ROM][JB 4.2.2] [Update20] | GCC 4.7/-O3 | Root-Box | DNA | HALO))) | Hybrid | PIE | [UNOFFICIAL]

Please enjoy my first ever ported AOSP/CM ROM. For a good laugh, I just woke up that day and randomly picked a ROM from the nexus 7 development forums that I wanted to port, then made it happen... The regular stuff is below (Please know I am not trying to take any credit for the hard work of the other guys that have put everything else together) Please if I forgot anything let me know I have been up all night working to get this to where it is and im sure i made a mistake here or there... Enjoy :)

Code:

* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

Description

Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. I personally have a high standard when it comes to releases and this is why this project always meets the expectations of users. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions:

ROM Questions:

Q: My Contacts/SMS/Phone keep Force Closing, what do I do?
A: Clear the data for the Contacts app, Contacts Storage app, and Dialer app.

Q: How can I change the Hardware Keys?
A: Go into the Settings, Click on Root-Box Settings, and then at the bottom click on Hardware Keys.

Q: Is there a Hold Back to Kill setting?
A: Yes, it is under ROM Control under General UI.

Q: How can I enable HALO?
A: Open Settings, then click on RootBox Settings and then HALO, then tick the Enable HALO tick-box.

Q: I activated HALO, how can I get rid of the orb?
A: Simply double tap the orb and drag it to the (X).

Q: I want to use the On Screen Nav bar, where is it?
A: Go into the Settings, click on Hybrid Settings and then swipe the screen to the right to will open the side menu, click on Interface and then slide the Nav bar slider to 100%.

Q: How can I make the Status Bar visible on the homescreen?
A: Open Settings, ROM Control, General UI, and then click on Transparency settings, then drag the slider to the right.

Device Questions:

Q: Can I use crpalmer's AOSP kernel?
A: Yes, but if you experience any issues make sure to flash back to the stock kernel before you report your errors. This is a must!

Q: I am not on the Verizon Network, how can I configure the APN to use with my network?
A: Go to the second post of the CM10.1 thread by Flyhalf205 and flash the GMS patch.

General Questions:

Q: I want to sync with your source to make my own builds, where can I go to do that?
A: If you have your build enviroment set up just click here and follow the instructions.

Q: How often will you be uploading updates?
A: I will be putting out updates either if there is a fix for something that is or gets broken, if there is any cool major chages, or about once every week.

Q: What gapps can I use?
A: Any gapps that you wish, really all you need is the com.android.vending.apk.

Q: How is the battery life?
A: Flash the ROM and give it a test run.

Q: AHHH! I found a bug, what can I do to help you fix it?!?!?
A: Get me a logcat and submit it to http://www.pastebin.com and then paste the link to your paste in a post.
A: Alternatively if you experience an app Force Close, hit the report button and then send it to torrented.xda@gmail.com

Q: I want to update to the latest update, do I need to do a full wipe or just the caches?
A: Just wiping the caches is ok, but since I'm still in the early stages, if you get any force closes or strange anomalies I would suggest doing full wipes in between and do not restore any kind of system data.

Hey good for you. It is quite impressive that you got this to build. Man if I had the time I would love to get into stuff like this. I have 3 kids that require all my attention. I have a soon to be 5 & 3 year old boys, & I have a 3 month old daughter.

I could do this at night but then I would end up looking like your avatar & be 100% useless at work. lol

Congrats on this accomplishment! You should be very proud. Take those first baby steps & you will be running before you even know it.

Is there gonna be a gsm version?

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

I can look into it and see what can be done, I took a look at the GMS patch from CM 10.1 and it looks like if you flash that it should work with this ROM too... I'm not a GSM user so me testing it wouldn't be very helpful

What did you do to get data working?

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

I was on CM10DNA/android_device_htc_msm8960-common instead of CyanogenMod/android_device_htc_msm8960-common (they updated it to be more friendly with devices)

I am having the same problem I have with every AOSP ROM available. com.android.phone stops as soon as I end a call or a call is coming in. Then I lose my network for about 10 seconds and then the network starts running again.

Logcat provided but I had to cut some of the text out of it because the file was too large to insert on here. I'm pretty certain there is enough information there though (sorry if there is too much, I didn't know which part was relevant). I am a GSM user from Australia and have flashed the GSM patch etc etc. Clean base wiped factory reset etc.

This has been an ongoing issue for me since day 1 of AOSP.

Guy. Do u fkn realise that you have fixed my problem. The dev from pacman fly from cm and a numerous bunch of other devs and users have seen my log cat and you're the first to ever mention that. I have always left it in LTE,GSM,WCDMA because I thought that would cover them all. You're seriously a life saver.

    Device Questions:

Here is the deal, Once SMS/MMS stuff gets fixed I can release an Update! Everything is building properly but CM messed up SMS/MMS so until then there will be a halt.

    Everything else seems ok.

EDIT* Issue is now fixed and I am uploading NOW!

@DasRooter If you feel you can do a better job at maintaining a ROM with almost 0% support from the main dev, feel free to do so.

    Update is live

I Suggest to Clean Flash this Update!

    or

make sure to clear Contacts, Contacts Storage, and the dialer data if you dirty flash, it will get rid of the FC's

torrented nice work, my only hiccup is I keep getting com.android.acore.stopped working. any idea what this is? followed your install instrucs to the tee

Clear cache and data for contact and contact storage, that's the acore error.
