Welcome to APOCALYPSE
After the success of MIRACLE V4, now comes... APOCALYPSE! Based on latest CyanogenMod 7.2 RC3 by vo-1, APOCALYPSE was modded in order to satisfy the majority of users concerning both looks and performance. It wasn't an easy task as the level since MIRACLE V4 was already set high. APOCALYPSE exceeds that level! And for that, a lot of people contributed, some with their desire to help by making things and some with their own mods in other threads from which I took the opportunity to adapt their work in this rom. So please read the thanks section at the end of this post to find out who those people are. To end this, I suggest you read carefully what I write cause I do this in order to help you and save you time for asking questions. Welcome to APOCALYPSE!

Installation Procedure - Step 1 (rom)
1. bοοt into CWM5 Recovery
2. wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik
3. format cache/data/system/sd-ext
4. MOUNT DATA
5. flash APOCALYPSE-17.06.12
5. reboot and complete the setup wizard
NOTE 1: At this stage you probably won't see the status bar. Reboot again to show up or plugin your usb mount cable
NOTE 2: At this stage you probably won't a wallpaper. Choose one with QuickPic

Installation Procedure - Step 2 (ICS Layouts)
1. Reboot into CWM5
2. mount system, flash Layouts APOCALYPSE-patch and reboot
NOTE: After phone boots, status bar is gone, theme is also changed. Don't worry
3. Reboot phone into CWM5 again
4. mount system, flash Layouts APOCALYPSE-undo and reboot
5. Reboot phone into CWM5 one last time
6. mount system, flash Layouts APOCALYPSE-patch, reboot

Finishing GPS Set-Up
1. go to system/etc/gps.conf
2. use root explorer, long press that file and open with text editor
3. replace "europe" with your region according to this guide
4. Save file, no permissions needs to be changed. The .bak file can be safely deleted

- firekernel updated to 23.06.12 OC-Official
- build.prop cleaned + added some tweaks
- updater-script cleaned and done correctly
- adreno libs updated
- hw libraries replaced with latest stock libs
- stock gpsd added to system/bin
- simple gps.conf just like in Lagloose's patch
(actually this rom has lagloose's patch but with updated libs)
- clock on right
- launcher changed to launcherpro
(for those with paid version just download licence from market)
- theme changed to original ICS and modded
(touchwiz style settings icons, ics dock icons for launcher pro, all the other stuff from previous theme with no window glow or transparency)
- torch is working on status bar
- added bln support to official nightly

- added some deleted CM7 apps in previous versions like pacman, html viewer
(now when you press "search" on play store or type a url in browser you don't see the homescreen background)

Hints and tips:

1. XPERIA S Launcher supports adw icon packs. Choose your pack from launcher preferences
2. Wallpaper Wizardriii is a cool app that lets you crop walls portrait or landscape way. Tweak it's setting for optimal performace
3. You can also install QuickPic and use it as your default image viewer and use Wallpaper Wizardriii for croping portrait walls
4. To mount USB after applying layouts, you need to press image on screen... there's no button
5. ICS Theme version is 032-build-408
6. ICS Layouts version is 012
7. acpather v5.31 was used to patch apps and framework
8. XPERIA S Home Launcher version is 0.9.1b
9. A tutorial of how to create an ext4 mount script with link2sd is attached in this post
10. New (10.06.12) S98system_tweak for AE. For those already installed it, replace in system/etc/init.d and select full permissions. Thanks to mxxmxxm for pointing that out!

Bugs and issues
-- If too many notices on status bar then will overlap centered clock
-- Even though Sansation font was created for multi-language support and complex writting, you may experience some weird characters FIXED
-- Sometimes when pressing search in Play Store or address bar on browser, app dissapears and only keyboard shows. If you start typing app will appear again
-- Low screen backlight when booting phone but brightness gets back to normal level after a few secs. It's a FireKernel issue and maybe this was done to save battery
-- On 16.06.12 update torch is working but not in status bar as a power widget.

10. ICSApocalypse-Original Theme Still 90% transparent windows with blue frame/white glow but no transparency in all other aspects. You have to push it manually to system app and change permissions to rw-r--r--
11. Sansation-Regular Edited by itasoulas. This is the DroidSans.ttf font. To be used for those download rom prior to 12.06.12. Rename the file to DroidSans and replace the one in system\fonts, change permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot. That should fix weird characters issue for most languages
12. To crop portrait walls search Google Play Store for "Crop Wallpaper" app. Does not run in background. Best ever

First thing - I've cleaned six pages of offtopic crap. It's the development thread for god's sake!

I'm the moderator of four subforums, but also a developer of ROM for X8. We have about 20000 downloads of our work per month. Some comments in our development thread is a pure garbage because people don't know how to do basic things and report that as a bug. Battery life is one of the main subjects in our thread. Smartphones are like PC's - fast CPU, LCD display etc. that eats hell lot of energy - every app consumes additional amount - if you have 60+ apps, tweaks etc. don't complain about battery life.
Want a good battery? Buy yourself an old Nokia :sarcastic:

To be honest dropping support because of trolls/n00bs isn't a good idea. You can always PM me or TRusselo and I'll speak to them in the hard way.

XDA is for developers and they will be always protected. If you disagree with this rule - just leave, otherwise moderators team would help you to do this.

Developers are here to do some software, not to be a root of endless knowledge and private helpdesk.

There is no democracy on XDA, you are not the most important person in the world.
