[Q] Root Cotton Candy Device
Sorry for the repost, but I didn't get any replies in from a different forum (and since it is not a standard device and a low level question, I wasn't sure where to post it to begin with); I'm hoping to at least get a 'go away', 'don't be an asshat' or a 'don't know what the hell you are talking about'....
So, let me preface this with I know squat about lower level hardware/ OS interaction. And I know a miniscule, itty-bitty, amount about Android. My development days are long, long gone, nor were they low level. But I've looked and I can't figure it out. I have an FXI Cotton Candy device for work and am having some issues. My goal is to get some custom apps to work on the device (which work on a standard install of Android, say on an Android phone). One fails at the Agreement screen - and I think I need Google Play for DRM on that one. Google Play Store is not on there, but I can side load the Amazon one.
I think the fact that it doesn't come with the ability to use the su command (from what I understand, Super User), is the reason they are failing. The device however does come with root access. I have tried installing SuperSU and BusyBox, but both fail. But I'm stretching beyond my understanding at that point anyway.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
