Are you rooted? If so, you might be able to just use a build.prop editor to change that line and trick the program into thinking you are on the update it's looking for.
Didn't think there would enough differences between the updates to make a difference. It's usually only an issue if it was more than an incremental update of the same Android version. But some phones are very specific...
