Rats!
Actually, apart from this batch which was sold (200 units, it has been said) as if it was coming from nowhere, info we get for more are about as erratic as yours. One date, canceled, another.
Was it some IRL testing? Like, if there are some big issues you only get 200 complaints? :D

Would you read french or not you'll get at least results from some benchmark here:
http://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/gsmgpspda/tablette/unique-iconia-a510-sujet_24016_32.htm

Thanks for the link! I don't read French, though I was amazed how much I got from the youtube video :) Fortunately, Google does a decent job of translating.

I guess this isn't unusual for a launch, but if you see something up for order, it'd be nice to have an idea it'd arrive sometime soon. I'm currently tablet-less after passing my NookC onto my son and just weighing my options. I'm between the Asus Prime and this one at the moment.

Last news are - from the very source which got this first batch so I guess it's reliable - massive delivery is expected on 4/23 week in France. possibly sooner.

I have been hesitating too between A510 and Prime. I forget Prime, too many issues not yet totally fixed. I don't want to gamble and get a bad unit. Travelling a lot I want a wifi signal as good as I can get especially when it costs 200 euros more than the A510 and A510's wifi is pretty good.
So far feedbacks from A510 are quite good even if it's only few days back so we should be cautious. No repetitive issues emerge yet, showing a serious bug in design or manufacturing.
I may go for it for the next delivery.

I wouldn't trust that AnTuTu benchmark... It's reporting the CPU speed incorrectly as 1400Mhz, A510 is clocked at 1300Mhz.

I guess we need a benchmark for benchmarks to know which are the best.:D
I don't pay much attention to them. e.g. I'm sure the tegra 3 underclocked Tf300 is still fine for most applications to the point a user wouldn't see any difference. I imagine optimized use of multi cores is more important than frequency.
The real important point here is tf300 fixes Prime's most issues better than having a slower processor. Too bad it drops the IPS+

It seems that it has a microusb proprietary port, not the standard one. So it is the charger...

I copied this off of The Future Shop's A510 Micro-site:

Ports
(1) Micro HDMI™ Port, (1) Micro USB 2.0 Port (1), MicroSD Slot (up to 32GB) , (1) 3.5mm Combo Jack, (1) DC-in Jack for AC Adapter

This sounds to me like the charger is a separate DC-in Jack from the microusb.

Yes. The power slot looks like a microusb but is not. Shape is a bit different. Beside that, it has a standard microusb port.

Amazon got the champagne prime in stock so I went for it, should arrive Tuesday. I'm going to test the heck out of it and hope it's one of those sweet units that rocks. I opted for knowing the issues going in - though I'll keep an eye on this forum in case my prime is a dud. Glad to know it's on the horizon -- that was one limited pre-release!

This info has been removed from the Acer online shop. I chatted with an agent and was told the release has been delayed. Unfortunately, I closed the window before copying exactly what he said, needless to say I'm disappointed. Ugh! BTW: I specifically asked for the US release info.

Has anyone heard updated info? I called Acer Thursday night and they told me they would have them in their warehouse Sunday Apr 15th and would start shipping them Monday Apr 16th. When did this change?

from user manual :

6 Multi-function connector :This is a multi-function connector featuring power
charging and hyper USB [host and slave] for data
transferring. See "Connecting devices to your
tablet" on page 24.

NO separate charging connector , it has only a non standard microusb. sigh

My bad, you are right. This was unclear from first reports from early owners.
This is not very smart.

ok, so first feedback..

- my tab is NOT stable, i had a reboot on the registration form right after google account add.
- i had plenty of reboots in benchmarking apps, quadrant standard can't pass the DNA test, so no results
- i got a 54,7 fps for nenamark 2.2
- Antutu Benchmark 2.7.3 gives me a 7815
Screenshot_2012-04-18-14-32-20.jpg
Otherwise, it's working well, Acer gave some apps, like polaris, acer ring.. but not really useful.
Viruscan is activated by default, i'll try to kill that crap and see if stability is improved.

for now, i miss my a501's stability but the power is there..

I had this problem as well. When I put the a510 in a case the entire bottom half of the screen became unresponsive. In a stand, same thing. As soon as I picked up the tablet it was back to normal.

    There IS a simple fix.

You have all probably tried changing the screen sensitivity in settings - this DOES work - problem is it doesn't work for the reason you think. The problem Is not screen sensitivity. I think it is that the touch sensor isn't initializing when the tablet is booted up.

When you change the settings in screen sensitivity it forces the touch panel to initialize - ie start up correctly, which it isn't doing on a reboot. The actual setting I don't think really matters.

Try this - reboot your tablet and then lay it flat on the table - or put it on a stand or in a case - you'll notice that the lower half of the screen becomes insensitive just like in the video.

Now, pick up the tablet, go into settings, and change the screen sensitivity from whatever it is to another setting ie medium to high or high to medium. Exit the menu, then go back in and change it again to whatever setting you prefer.

You have forced the touch sensor to initialize. Now put your tablet on the table or in a stand or case and you'll notice that the screen works normally. The bottom menus work fine.

BUT you must repeat this after every - reboot or the problem will return, because on reboot the touch sensor will again not start properly. Basically, it looks like you have to manually start up the touch sensor on this tablet - can't imagine how a problem this severe got overlooked.

On the good side, my tablet has been working fine in between reboots if I just follow these steps.

Oh, incidently, the fact that this fix works every single time for me, indicates that this likely is not a hardware problem. If the screen can be made to work correctly, then it CAN work - if Acer gets around to releasing a software fix for it.

wifi was working well, but did not have time to bench it
GPS no time for that now too,
    will keep you updated

FYI, an hard reset gave me a better stability ..

Just found this in another thread... good to know:

Just so everyone knows, this root kit also works on the new Iconia A510.
I just got my Acer Iconia A510 from Amazon this morning and decided to install the USB drivers and tried this rooting kit and low and behold I got full root access. :D:D:D:p:p:p

    Thanks ZeroNull!!!!

yep, but no internet access currently
for now, antutu gave me same scoring, but once was higher (around 10k)

i found that connecting my tab to the pc, then disconnecting it without unmount, gives me a really unstable tab..

anyway, the global feeling is that this tab will go back to acer, it's not stable at all,
    i miss my A501..
i thought i could have a really powerful tab, instead of that i've got a buggy tab..
