Version 20.4 should root Lollipop 5.0.2 right? I have a problem with it. After clicking root button my tablet is rebooting and there is still information WAITING FOR DEVICE....

I'm planning to upgrade my rooted 4.4.4 Nexus 10 to 5.1 with NRT 2.0.4.

I really want to keep all my data AND multiple useraccounts.

Will "Flash Stock + Unroot" with No-wipe mode keep all userdata and useraccounts? Especially the latter..

I made a Nandroid backup of 4.4.4, but am unsure if I can restore this if anything goes wrong.
For my Moto G returning to 4.4.4 wouldn't be possible because the bootloader was updated. Is this also the case for the Nexus 10?

The best tk.

I'll have to check this out. Was reading the blog and have to say props on the wget proxy support you added in... of all of the android toolkits I've always been impressed how you weave everything together so professionally... especially the way you automatically update everything and download just what you need to update NRT. Also I'm sure some of the questions really get old after a while but unlike many people you often still take the time to answer questions that honestly really probably shouldn't be asked in the first place or wouldn't need to be if the poster would just read the entire thread. Thanks again for making something that has benefited the entire community for years now. The masterlist hashing and updates is brilliant as well your descriptive explanation of what was really going on. I've learned a lot from you over the years.

I'm also curious of possibility of keeping any user data going from stock rooted 4.4.4 Nexus 10 to 5.1 with NRT 2.0.4 Can you retain anything safely from that far back with that many new changes? I really don't have a problem with maybe wiping after moving some pictures and stuff off but a few of my apps configurations like LINE and a couple games would be nice to retain if it's even doable. I know there's no guarantees but how would you try and do it? I've avoided the OTA's for a long time now but 5.1 sounds like maybe 5 is good enough to try. If starting fresh is really better I can live with that answer. Thanks again.

Thank you. I appreciate your comments.

If you are already rooted, there are better backup solutions then NRT adb backup. You can use it just don't include system apps.

For a better backup - the paid root app "Titanium Backup" is excellent. Backup just your user apps + data (not system apps), then copy that backup folder from your sdcard to your comp, or sync with cloud storage. Then do a clean flash of lollipop, and restore stuff afterwards.

Thanks Wug... I'll use NRT for everything and try Titanium Backup paid on the apps. I really appreciate your suggestion. I know system app backup from Titanium is a disaster waiting to happen (really at all between version) and appreciate that advice!

Also here's to hoping the rumors about LG making a follow up nexus based on the new G4 internals as well! IDK about you but I love the nexus 4 and 5 :^} six is just too big for me.

I think there maybe an issue with the tool (since the 2.06 update) and flashing images to the Nexus 10, I had the exact same problem flashing the latest 5.1.1 (LMY48X) build, using flash stock and unroot option. I tried to flash several builds, all with the same result.

In the end I downladed the latest image from Google and used fastboot to flash the new bootloader and image. After that I used the toolkit again to root. Device is fine now.

Hope this helps

Toolkit 2.0.7 is out ! Thanks Wugfresh

I just reflashed LMY48X (flash stock and unroot) Upon completion system memory was 3.4M. Then I performed Root (TWRP) and now system memory is 0.0K

Any ideas?

I would recommend trying to relflash stock and then try rooting again.

Turns out my problem was more complicated than I thought. I discovered I had no custom recovery and probably no full root although it appeard to be OK. Any attempts to go into recovery ended in the stock revovery screen (lying down amdroid with !) but no command text.

I managed to manually fastboot flash LMY48M, then using your tool tried to root again, same result, several attempts later (flash stock & unroot + root) I decided to try another tool for root which succeeded. (with SuperSu 2.46). It's the fist time ever I have experienced any issue like this, here is part log from the rooting bit:

I have no idea what when wrong, or subsequently right but in the end I manged to restore the last working LMY48X nandroid I had (the one with 0 system memory and somhow It now shows 175M availble and hence allowed me to install Xposed again.

So for now my problem is solved, Im on LMY48X, rooted, TWRP is working fine, XPosed is up and running and I am smiling again.

I've gone through all the steps to set my phone back up as stock. The flash+unroot went fine, phone is working as it should, but the OEM lock function is not locking my phone. It says that it locks fine in the NRT dialogue, but phone continues to remain unlocked. Thoughts?

This here got me up & running again. I used flashify to flash twrp 3.0.0 & it would only boot to bootloader after, thought whole device got wiped, but I used this tool kit, plugged in, & just hit root & selected to flash a recovery. It said it was going to temporarily boot recovery, but it stayed there. So I checked to see if my files were still on tablet & they were. I was kinda scared to unplug the tablet, but I crossed fingers, wiped & flashed AICP 6.0.1 & booted right up & back in business. Thank you sir........

I just successfully Flash Stock + Unroot my Nexus 10 to Build LMY49G (and just after I got the last OTA : LMY49H the "standard way"...

I am now trying to (re)Root. TRWP 3.0.0.0 is loaded and TRWP shows up, but I don't know what I am supposed to select on the tablet :
Install, Backup, Mount, Wipe, Restore or something else ?

As I am afraid to take the wrong decision, I decided to wait for your instructions...

Thanks - Gérard

Unlocking, rooting, relocking and unrooting simplified! (and much more!)

VERSION 2.1.4 - This program will automatically bring together all the files you need to unlock and root your device in a few clicks, or flash it back to stock and re-lock it. You can also use this program to backup/restore all your important data, flash zips, set file permissions, push and pull files, install apps, generate logcats/bugreports, and much more! With the included file association options, you can perform tasks like flashing zips, installing apps, restoring android backup files, and flashing/booting img files with just a double click! The program includes a full featured interface for automating tasks in TWRP, enhanced restore features, an in-built auto-updater/notification system, ‘any build’ mode, advanced restore features,’NRT- Live Log’ for viewing the adb/fastboot cmds that are run in the background, quick tools utilities, and tools for taking screenshots/screen-recordings. All the latest official Android builds and Nexus devices are supported. The program intelligently and selectively downloads the files it needs for your device and makes sure you are using the latest files available. The program can even auto-detect your device and build. This release brings full Marshmallow root support plus all automated features by utilizing a new system that no longer requires modified boot.imgs. Check out the updated changelog for a more comprehensive breakdown of the feature set and changes in this release.

~ my goal for this project is make the entire process as smooth and simple as possible ~

If anyone starts bootlooping for longer than 5 minutes after an unlock than you need to factory reset.

    1. Hold down the power button to shut the device off
    2. Restart the device holding all three buttons (vol up and down + power button)
    3. In bootloader mode, switch the big green START to the red RECOVERY using the volume buttons
    4. Enter stock recovery by pressing the power button
    5. You will see an android on its back
    6. Press Vol up + power button at the same time to enter the stock recovery menu
    7. Select "Factory Reset" with the volume buttons and press the power button to initiate it.
    8. After the factory reset your device should boot up normally.

TWRP fails here too. What did you do to fix the problem? I cant seem to get anything to work!

This is what I have to do after the first twrp factory reset fails:

    1. Properly and completely turn off your device.
    2. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power keys until the device powers on. You should see an image of an Android icon lying on its back.
    3. Press Volume Down twice until the screen says “Recovery mode.”
    4. Press Power to restart into “Recovery mode.” You should see an image of an Android with a Red triangle after a few minutes.
    5. Tap Volume Up key while hold and press Power button.
    6. Use the volume keys to scroll to “wipe data/factory reset” and press Power to comfirm.
    7. Use the volume keys to scroll to “Yes – erase all user data” and press Power to confirm.
    8. Your device will reboot itself after the data wipe completed.

Are you going to update "[Toolkit] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit" to install Root and Recovery with version 4.3?

    Yes, by tomorrow.
