Hi, i have read all the thread but i'm bit confused, so just some questions...
The BASE rom is my rom, for examples the stock of my smartphone, instead the PORTED is the rom that i like to port, right?
Then, my Galaxy W hasn't a cm7, so can i try to port a cm7 rom from another device with ARMv7, like Galaxy S, using as base my stock rom?
And i need to use a custom kernel or can i use the stock kernel from the base rom?
Maybe u have not read my post...cause as i have write, I read all the thread but isn't clear for me and i was confused, so i just ask to be sure...I can't do a question if i'm not sure!?! keep calm dude...Nope!!! You can't PORT cm7 not now not ever!!....
Cm7 has to built from source!!
And read other posts before asking!!
No need to say it just press that thanks!!

Hey, I managed to port JoyOS ROM from Samsung Nexus S to Samsung Galaxy S by using CM7.1 stable with your guide mate . But I'm expecting an issue: android.process.acore FCs repeatedly and the phone is like unusable. Do you know a way to fix it? Thanks man .
I already tried deodexing and zipaligning the ROM but no luck .

You can port any Rom as long as it's based on CM7/GB/Stock Rom, the same CPU (Armv6, Armv7, Armv5) as your BASE, and it's best to port a Rom from the same manufacturer, if not, you can still do it, just change BOOTCLASSPATHYou say that we can use any ROM as BASE but you don't specify what to use as PORT.
Can you please clarify that?
