Which manufacturer can make a better phone with the most bleeding edge technology? Only Samsung. Main reasons being that they have the best screens, the best prossessers, and they hired ex BMW designer/captain Chris Bangal to design their phones.
This is the same guy that designed the 745!
And even Cyanogen works for them.

I'd rather have a well made plastic phone that feels quality then a poorly made metal phone with crappy screen/digitizer like my last HTC was.
I'm sorry but you can't knock Samsungs nexus offerings on build quality. They all feel quality in the hand.

It's not plastic. It's not gorilla glass. This has been discussed over and over. Search.
That would probably be the oleophobic coating scratching Darkh, not the actual glass itself. The glass itself does seem to be weaker than gorilla glass though but this may also be due to the extra weight of the Nexus S as opposed to, for example, the SGS2 - but i've never dropped or broken either to say so myself.
It does not feel like plastic at all. .

So scratch resistance is pointless? My HTC wildfire which I had for over a year has less scratches than my nexus after 4-5 months

well i heard of some new type of glass even better then gorilla glass... but lets face it i think phones will move into our eye glasses and contacts with heads up display.
