Device materials matter much more for a device such as the note because a majority of note owners don't put a case on it. And if they do it's the flip case so materials still matter.
I absolutely loved my HTC one. Best phone I've ever owned, my battery life was actually outstanding especially after rooting. Nothing on the market compares to the screen on the HTC one., even the ip5s, g2 and note 3. The quality of the lcd3 was impeccable, especially for.outdoor visibility. After putting a case over the beautiful and wonderful feeling metal phone, it felt like any other phone.
I sold my HTC one because at the end of the day I want the larger 5.7" screen and s pen support and I'm willing to downgrade a little bit on screen quality and audio quality ( hopefully audio is close to as loud as HTC one but I doubt it) for those extra features. After going to a Samsung note 3 launch event for work the other day I want this note 3 even more. I think for being a plastic phone it rivals the HTC one as far a how good it feels in my hand. The s pen features are incredible and well developed and a big improvement over note 2 . Hopefully note 2 owners will adopt a few of these features with an update.
I wish I would have had the opportunity to take the note 3 outside to see direct sunlight visibility but I think that's something ill be ok with if it is inferior to the HTC one ( which I cam guarantee it will.be but hopefully not by much)
As for the gear watch. I think being as how it is android based, and they are going to be releasing updates to make it compatible with the gs3, gs4, note 2 it will hopefully take off and more people will develop apps for it. App developers control the fate of the gear watch. I hope more people make their apps miltiwindow compatible as well. Currently the number of multiwindow apps is up from 17 to 34 so hopefully that number continues to grow with the popularity of the note device line.
