what i feel as special nonsense in this case is that the thermal brightness throttling kicks in even at lowest
brightness levels! this helps almost nothing in regard to reduce heat and/or energy consumption... so the
idea is maybe good/necessary, but the implementation is bad!
with the nexus 7 (2013) and franco kernel you can set the temperature threshold were the throttling starts.
if this is possible on a snapdragon 600 this should be also possible on 800!
so again, a future custom kernel should be able to address this! maybe the thermal cpu-frequency throttling is
still necessary, but maybe we could turn off the screen brightness throttling (at least at low brightness levels)!
