Ok, there it is, the freaking noise. If you flash faux's on cm7 eb, you'll hear the noise

That is stated in the op. Its been a known issue since the update came out. The new baseband is not compatible with old roms. Or any from except for ones based on the update.

I have made a lot of progress on the new rom. However I've encountered a lot of headaches over this damn thing. Once I can get it stable I'll release it no eta. Going as fast as I can.

Flashed this two nights ago. So far I've been disappointed. It was super fast at the beginning but now it's starting to slow down, and I didn't really install many apps.

Call quality is superb for me though, but data goes away sometimes. And Wifi turns off on it's own randomly.

Also, wifi calling works only about half the time. :(

You might try rebooting periodically. I've had a couple of instances of the phone getting bogged down, and once (after it had been up for a couple of days) it failed to connect to Wi-Fi Calling. I had similar problems when I was running Tsugi, which was based on an earlier leaked version of 2.3.4 from LG, and I found that if I rebooted every morning while I was getting dressed, I never had those problems. I'm following the same regimen with this ROM, and it appears to be working: I connect to Wi-Fi Calling every time I leave the hot spot and come back.

I haven't seen the problems with loss of data and wifi turning off, so I don't know if rebooting regularly would help those or not.

My battery life on v21y was good until I downloaded the Words with Friends app. I went from an average of 26 hours battery life to about 12 hours. Uninstalled Words with Friends, and now the phone is back to it's regular battery life (even with apps like K9, Tweetcaster, and Mobile security constantly running).

For those having battery drain problems, you may want to check some of the apps you have installed.

That's what I was thinking... but since my games are done I'll uninstall it to be sure :).

Yeah, I missed reading it, that's why I kept asking for the solutions. Lol. Thank you so much for the great news, sir. Can't wait for your next release. If there's someone working on the kernel, that's be awesome =)

Alright I'm having tons of issues after I fix one thing another pops up. But I'm gonna post a theme for this in a little while with the standard quickpanel included. That you can just flash over the stock build no need to wipe anything.

I'll try to get the other quick panel going asap. As well as the new rom. Smali and permissions are kicking my ass....

I have other good news. But I'll let that wait. ;)

As the title says this is the new v21y update rooted. You must have the march 2012 baseband or in call audio will not function properly.

    Disclaimer:
Not responsible for anything that happens to your device. It is yours and you flash at your own free will.

    ROM includes:
    v21y 2.3.4 update
    Root -unsecured boot.img
    init.d support
deodexed (was already that way in the update)
    zipaligned

I did not remove any of the bloatware in this version, you should know how to do that yourself.

    Known issues..
If you do not have the march 2012 baseband in call audio WILL NOT WORK. You have to update the baseband.
Pulling the update only disenfranchises the unsophisticated G2X owners, those who only use "official" updating methods but it doesn't prevent anyone who takes the time and trouble of learning how to use other methods of updating. The v21y_00.kdz is still available directly from LG: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1601918

    To install:
    1. Reboot into cwm
    2. Wipe data/factory reset
    3. Go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache
    4. Go to mounts and storage>format /system.
    5. Go to install zip from SD card.
    6. Install the zip and reboot.

ScreenShots will be up after a while.

Here's a tip to get a little more free ram and save some data/battery.

Use a file explorer go to system/app look for omadmclient.apk and delete it. This app is LGs ota update watcher. It constantly runs in the background. Deleting it frees the resources its silently leeching.
