I'm rooted, unlocked, running Joker's Skinnyrev2-test3.5 and 8 finger multitouch mod. This apparently worked for me...

I entered ##3828# on dialer. This brought up Data Settings. I selected Data Profile>Edit. Entered the number I got from this in Enter Passcode, hit Verify and came up with my Data Profile...

Does that mean that I have my MSL???
Yes.

Or you can press ##MSL#.

U can see MIN and MDN using that code

Good guide but I'm upset that it's more **** I have to run windows for. But I already had to boot windows for CDMA workshop to get the MSL for other phones, great tool tho. I hadn't heard of this one before actually.

No go with CM7 With a manual reboot while plugged in. I get the green dot but the top bar always goes red and I try to manually reboot while plugged in and no go. But I really cant use it on cm7 anyway.

Hi,
I did it with Motorola Admiral, and RDELEM comes with successful result.
But when I converted the hex data, it resulted with invalid string (i.e. õ).

i have restarted my phone and retried several times but the result is same.

Should I use different value for |Element ID|Record #|Offset|Lengh|. if I use Motorola Admiral?

Any insights is very appreciated.
Many thanks.

Ignore the junk characters you see in the output, for example if your output is 894704 the MSL should be 894704. If you use Internet explorer as the browser you will not get these junk characters.

Hey, I also have a Motorola Admiral. I put the USB setting in the PST USB mode and I also selected the WiMax (MSM 6800) for my chipset base. I also changed the element ID, record, and length as indicated. Yet I have the same problem when I try translating the Hex into Text. I even used Internet Explorer as the web browser. This is what I get as a result õ when I try converting from Hex to Text.

PLEASE HELP! I need to get the MSL for this Motorola Admiral so that I can change it and access the settings on CDMA Workshop and QPST. Thanks!!

does this still work? I can't get it to work, even on green.
it could be corrupted drivers though, judging from the message

Thank you.

I was able to use this to find the MSL code with a non-activated Photon that Sprint says does not even exist in their database.

    Success!!

This worked fine on 2 Photons with a couple of caveats...

    1. I got a pink circle instead of green and the RadioComm user manual says:

Green Circle: This status means that a radio is detected and in USB Composite Device mode. (Motorola P2K Test Commands)

Pink Circle: This status means that a radio is enumerated as a USB LAN device and the socket connection was successful. (Motorola P2K or QC test commands in USB LAN mode)

    2. After the first time hooking phones up and starting RadioComm, I got the pink circle, but RDELEM didn't work. Then I tried clicking the Restart button at the top center to force a restart of the phones and then the steps on the second graphic in the OP (RDELEM) worked fine.

Note: The USB mode that I started with was Charge Only, but after RadioComm does its thing it was in Motorola Phone Portal mode...not sure why or if it makes any difference...just sayin'.

Wow this worked. I got my MSL without calling in to Sprint. A few pointers for those that are struggling.

    1) When you first connect your phone via USB to your computer, make sure you the USB connection is set to "Motorola Phone Portal". After you select Motorola Phone Portal, remove the USB connection and reconnect the USB to the computer.

    2) On the right hand side you may see a Pink status circle. Don't worry you can still get your MSL. The status bar on the top MUST however must be green in order for you to get the Hex ID information or else it will say
    RDELEM ==>FAILED
    Driver answer ==> -256
Error Description ==> PST: Handle to device is invalid - no device present.

I had to issue a "RESTART" on the phone to get it to connect green.

    3) Then follow the steps in the second and third screenshots to get your MSL.

    4) Test your MSL code by typing in ##DATA# (##3282#) and click on one of the entries, click options button -> Edit and enter the MSL as the "Passcode".

---------- Post added at 01:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:21 PM ----------

did all that and im getting

Sending 'RDELEM' command with data '278600010000000E' to the radio...
    Sent to radio:
    TC Send Header: 0000002000080000

Read my post about tips and pointers. Looks like you just need to restart your phone with the USB plugged in by clicking the "RESTART" button.
