where to test? Front or back... i ran a magnet over the whole tab while the screen was off... nothing happened

This got me curious too. Can someone who has the case try it out? Or someone who has a small magnet. Set the screen timeout to e.g. 10min and slowly go through the tab with a magnet near the surface, if it goes to sleep, then yay! Otherwise...

As far as I know there should not be any magnet wakeup/sleep feature. Or then it's just a feature that samsung informs to case manufacturers if they want to implement it.

The case itself looks very nice and is high on my order-this-list :)

Well I contacted Spiegen about the magnetic sleep/wake feature and as I suspected, it was an error in the description. (about this case.)

I tried a couple of different cases but have settled on this one:

(I'm new so I can't post images or links yet but it's ebay item 220953547356)

It fits nice and snug, protects all four corners and works great as a stand with 3 different viewing angle options. The price was right too.

Perfect fit and looks smart, only downside is the power button is a little trickier to press. It opens up like a normal book as well, not the weird reverse book way of the official Samsung cases. :)

Looks good! Does it add alot of bulk? and how is the stand feature?

Closed, the tab and case are about 15-17 mm thick. I personally don't consider that bulky, but then again, I had an Otterbox on my 7" Galaxy Tab so just about anything feels thinner than that! What bulk there is is put to good use. The Tablet feels really well protected and the surface that closes against the glass is nicely cushioned.

I think it works brilliantly as a stand. There's 3 different viewing angles and all are very stable.

Had the Rock case for a while now. And it fits nice, it looks very good and professional (for the price I paid, it's premium. 36 dollars). The cover is a little bit wobbly when hanging loose but it doesn't matter.
When you fold it up to horizontal position, it stands quite good, even when you slide or tap the top part of the tab, so no complaints there. Typing position is also great.
The elastic band that keeps the cover close is easy to open and close, and it's really good at keeping it closed ;-)
The corners are about 2mm thick and thus protects the tab well. And all the ports are easily accessible.

The only negative thing that I find annoying is, that when you use the lid as a stand, you have to roll it together in a way that the inside (the microfiber that protects the screen from scratches) is pointing outwards and it picks up some dust from the surface where it is standing on.
And the dirt then gets on the screen. Mine was full of dust after some use for the first time.

Hey guys~! After reading your posts on smart screen cover, i discover an app which replicate the same effect using the proximity sensor.

Go google play and search for SMART SCREEN OFF. Try it out.

I am not affliate with the app. Just a user & wanna share with other users :)

    Got mine yesterday. It's a bit disappointing, IMHO, as it is quite bulky and the different viewing angles require you to pop the device half way out of the case and then the whole thing slips out (see 4th pic down, and it did, indeed, fall on the floor right after I took the photo). Nice leather, though.

    A review with pic would be great :)

    I just bought the 360 rotary case, branded "perfora".
    This is a chinese made case which is rebranded with many names.
    I got it pretty cheap, around $20.

    But overall, i'm a bit dissapointed,

    1. The grooves (there are 2 ) don't hold the tab up very well, this is the most fatal design flaw, because if you type too strong the tab will fall.
    Only the upper horizontal groove that can hold it properly, but if you type the upper part of the tab, it will fall as well

    2. The worst part is when you put vertically to the upper grooves, it will fall immediately because the angle is > 90 degree, (did they even test this before selling it?)

    3. The hinge for rotation is too loose, i can't hold it with 1 hand comfortably unlike the official case.

    Overall i wouldn't recommend it, fortunately it's not too expensive though.
    I don't know if there's other brand with better design,
    but i suggest you to try it first before buying it.

    There are two apps, the one from James Kim and the AndroidHD one. Which is the one you are recommending?
