Official LG Qi-Charger (WCD-100)

I'm awating the charger to arrive in my mailbox today or monday.
But according to our "test supervisor" it was very importaint that we use 1.8Ah chargers so it will charge at full speed
- so it should roughly be the same as speed as the USB-chargerI found this on a Korean Website. Do an English translate.

It seems total charge time 0-100% is a little over 3 hours on WCD-100.
I think it is pretty good compared to 2 hours on standard USB charger.
Haven't got the g3 yet. But do have the charger. Using it to charge the qi devices I have. It seems to be about 20% slower than plugged into wall directly. Your milage my vary and I'm sure it will depend on the device.
In other news, the charger works well, and I mainly bought it to have phone propped at work. But I think it cost more than it should. The LG disk chargers I got wcp-300 work just as well and I found those on sale for $20(normally about $40)

I picked up 2 generic QUMOX qi chargers from Amazon.
They require very specific placement and I find the G3 disconnects after a few minutes and won't charge again unless I take it off and put it back on.
I get the same experience on both, with and without a case, so either the brand is sub-par or the qi contacts in the phone are faulty. I'd like to think the former!

I've got the official WCD-100 charger and my Spigen "slimarmour" case does cause some problems. With it on I get the "reposition phone" message but the phone still seems to charge. Downsides are that the charging takes a lot longer than with a "bare" phone and also the back of the phone gets quite hot.
Luckily the Spigen case is pretty easy to get the phone in and out of, so I've now settled into a routine of popping it out of the case before putting it on the charger. Charge times are pretty quick too - but that's probably because of the tablet-spec charger that LG ship as standard with the phone (note, at least in the UK, the WCD-100 doesn't come with any charger). Phone still gets quite warm - certainly warmer than other inductively charged tech I've had before (like the HP Touchpad's).
Also noticed something else - if the phone is in a cooling draft, (near a window for example) - then charging times are reduced. Maybe it's just my phone but that battery is really temperature-sensitive.
I think I'll go for an official jobby tbh. These little guys I've got are OK for other devices but just aren't working with the G3.

Everything I have tends to charge faster when it's cool, equally it drains slower when cool too. (Completely unscientific observations)
I swapped my Spigen Slimarmour with a LG official hardcase. I was under the impression it had a leather-feel (faux or not) but getting it I'm utterly disappointed. The Spigen is far stronger while the LG case is soft and really flimsy plastic. -- Easier to charge with it on I guess though.
Got my WCD-100 from Clove when they were doing that bundle deal.
And it's better than the Samsung charger/stand I had for the S3, although personally I'd prefer if it was a couple of mm wider.Thanks for the info on the official case - I was toying with that, but at nearly twice the price of the Spigen I went for the cheap option. Sounds like I chose wisely. (For once!).

I'm looking at getting a USB power strip to make it easier to work with my cables and for travel. It has 2.1A outputs. What does everyone think about using a 2.1A input on the WCD-100 vs. the 1.8A LG charger input.

Don't fret about high Amps
There's actually no such thing as "too high" current on the adapter (look it up - especially if you're into crazy detailed stuff like me). The receiving device determines current "pull" (didn't study the electrical engineering part of my Ship's Engineer degree in English, so don't know the English terms. When the transformer is capable of delivering more current, it doesn't mean that it will, ie. push/force it. It's just the maximum "pull". A higher amp transformer will just handle it with less heat if going close to max. current. Try charging a device that came with a 500mA or 1A charger with a 2A charger and you'll see no difference, except maybe going from 99 to 100% slightly faster.

Please run "Battery Monitor Widget" from the play store and share how many milliamps the LG G3 receives.

It's a way to compare all these Qi pads so we know if they deliver different power. My N5 on TYLT provideds about 500 mA
Using the stock G3 1.8amp USB power adapter ought to give it the most power.

Has anyone tried to use this charger with a Nexus 4? It seems like a great option, but I'd like to know if the coils line up and there are no random disconnects, etc.

Clove (in the UK) are doing a deal where you get the WCD-100 free when you pre-order the G3, and since their price is only £20 (US$34) more than Amazon UK are doing it for that seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. The RRP for the WCD-100 is £59.99 (US$102) here, so you're effectively saving £40 (US$68)
Can't comment on the charging speed, but if it's like the other wireless charging "solutions" then it'll be slower than a proper cabled connection, but certainly fast/good enough to suit an overnight (/nightstand) or desk charge. I came across a G3 review (sorry, can't find the link) that says that the G3 is smart enough to warn you - with a pop up - when the phone isn't properly docked in the charger. If true then that's a neat feature, all the other wireless charging things I've used only confirm when the unit is docked correctly, (e.g. HP Touchpad "bongs").
Having had the official Samsung S3 charging dock I'll be interested to see if the LG charger supports the phone better than the Samsung's one does, and also if the G3 has a "docked" mode like the S3 does.11
