I read from the raspbmc guy that microsd cards arent a good idea. o_O
Anyways a class 6 sd card is what is needed to run an operating system.
Class 10 is for normal data storage not random reads and writes as 10 is for sequential stuff.
Just my two cents.
Cheers!

Sdcards are awful, slow and unreliable. Yet the seem to pop up everywhere.

I am contemplating on purchasing a SanDisk 32GB Class 4 SDHC memory card, http://www.sandisk.in/products/memory-cards/sd/standard-class4/?capacity=32GB, for my Raspberry Pi.
:silly:
But, I am unsure if it would work, or not. I perused through the Working/Non-working SD cards section on RPi SD cards, http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards#Working_.2F_Non-working_SD_cards, but there is no decisive indication for the Class 4 and Class 6 types of the aforementioned memory card's said capacity.
 :fingers-crossed:
Could someone, who has used the aforementioned memory card, of said capacity and Class, confirm if it works, or not?

The latest version of Raspbian now requires a minimum of 4Gb.

A lot of extra goodies have been added to the standard build which now pushes it over the 2Gb boundary.

On first boot, the system will ask you if you wish to expand the main partition to fit the size of the card.

Oh I forget, it's a micro SDHC ;)
And yes, your SD is compatible, but I advice you to take a class 10 SD ;)

Be careful with class 10 cards. Overclocking the Pi will corrupt the class 10 card 9 out of 10 times. Took me a while to figure out what was happening. Popped a class 4 back in and no issues when OC'd

Yeah, my micro sd (Class 10) has been corrupted one time and I was very disappointed... but my rpi was overclocked to 1ghz :(
So now I OC it just to 800 mzh. (no overvolt)
Why there is problems with class 10 SD ?

I was using an SiliconPower 32GB class 6 for a year. It was really cheap and the class 6 was fast enough. If your looking for cheap options, this may be a way to go.
However, I am now using a ScanDisk UHC 1, 8GB, Micro SD. Highly recommend it.
You will definitely notice a difference in performance of the raspberry pi. I always recommend speed of over capacity with the SD card selection.
