I remember thinking before smartpush might be OTA updates, or sycining facebook/daum friends or something, didn't look to important to me? Annoying though if its there sucking battery.
I've managed to get Nakyup downloaded now, deciding whether to go through with now or wait till I'm back in Korea, bit eager to try it out asap but need a quick step by step guide to make sure I've got everything backed up. Also never flashed a ROM and Kernel before, is it one then the other or both at the same time? I've read boot the rom first boot, wipe the cahce and then flash the kernel, but would it boot without the kernel installed (or is the kernel 'ontop' of the rom install wise?)
-On that, I was thinking if I have everything backed up though TitaniumBackup when I install TB on my Nakyup, it might install all of the preloaded crap I don't want anyway. I think I'll have to go through TB now and uncheck the things I don't want. Seems a bit long winded unless I'm missing something.
got tired about flashing wrong rom's to m110s. some of them require a factory reset from recovery and that requires the home key (doesn't work for me). I'm going to disassemble the phone and try to solder the broken flex cable from the original buttons board using my replacement i9000 flex board. So i'll be keeping the original MCU and resistors but i'll solder the capacitive sensors from the i9000 flex board.
Pretty good occasion to check out the hardware layout of this phone. At first, the antenna placement is different, the casing is also different since m110s must also include that tv antenna. The display unit looks the same, i guess it fits a standard i9000 unit, however the display controller IS DIFFERENT. So, if you break your m110s display and replace it with a i9000 one, you will either achieve only partial functionality (displaying anything else then native 800x480 will fail) or it will not work at all. I can't test this "theory" but looking at how the display is linked to this controller, it's a fair guess.
I'll also look into the video out function, although m110s is supposed to.. not have one, as this is part of the cortex a8 SoC it must be implemented at chipset level. However there are some missing components that are supposed to signal the SoC that a video link is established. Other then this, the phone is perfectly capable of tv-out, but... lacks kernel support and the A8 chip doesn't know when to enable this option or not (no hardware detection).
The back case of the m110s contains an antenna array, i'll have to hook it up to some measuring equipment to see what it's supposed to do, the original i9000 doesn't have this.
For now, i must figure out how to solder some 8-10 tracks per sensor button on a space 3mm wide and with a track width of about 1/4mm. That sucks more that anything that ever sucked before...
PS: how did some dudes managed to kill this phone by flashing a wrong rom to it? This thing is like Rambo or Mell Gibson... it simply doesn't die. I always manage to recover it using a single usb cable and no special tools.
I guess, tomorrow at this same hour i will have finished this job and revived my phone. At present time, i don't think i'll place some new led's to light out the buttons, since i hated how their light tended to leak in the space between the screen and outer crome bezel. No led's for me.
Anyway, it was a fairly simple repair, although a more ghettostyle approach.
is there any custom roms, better which will replace my current froyo???
anything? apparantly no cm7, anything else??? miui? darky??? please help,
There is Nakyup, Jacob's, JC, Icarus, and stock rom with Tegrak Kernel.

Mod Edit: While I understand that the purpose of this guide is to help those who have lost their IMEI's while flashing ROMS, this opens up a whole new can of worms as far as what can be done with it. The outcome is illegal in most countries in fact. Sorry.

Using Repair Kit to Unbrick M110SFirst stage :- For every Stage of Flashing RESTART ODIN and always use Fresh ODIN
1) download repair kit and unzip it (you will have 6 tar files)
2) put phone into download mode after battery pull
2) run odin and select m110s.pit under PIT (Re-partion option will be automatically ticked)
3) select M110S-PDA-PHONE-MOVI-REV03-DG23-1409-USER.tar.md5 under PDA
4) connect phone and Press start (within 10 min your phone will reboot into Eclair Firmware)
you will have a fully working phone after this, only needs further updates, so continue to stage 2
Second stage:-
1) put phone into download mode after battery pull
2) run odin select S1_KOR_DE09.pit under PIT (make sure you UNTICK the re-partition option in Odin)
3) select M110S-BOOT-DG23-1409.tar.md5 under CSC
4) connect phone and press start (within a few min phone will reboot)
Third Stage:-
1) put phone into download mode after battery pull
2) run Odin select M110S-NPS-IMAGE-REV03-DG23-1409-USER.tar.md5 under PDA
3) selct M110S-PHONE-REV00-DG24.0151_Develop.tar.md5 under PHONE
4) Connect Phone and select start ( within few min phone will reboot )
Fourth Stage:-
Your Phone is currently running its FIRST out of the box Firmware used in 2010 , so now you need to upgrade to the latest 2012 Stock ROM or Custom ROM of your choice so repeat Flashing Procedure to upgrade to Latest Firmware
IF unable to complete repair procedure
Final Solution:-
After receiving many requests for help, concerning stage 2 of the repair procedure, Failing or unable to complete as it gets stuck on Boot-loader upgrade or similar
My advice is to proceed to stage 4, meaning you Flash a Latest stock or custom after the Eclair ROM, this will solve the issue and you would be able to USE the phone .
so if it get stuck after stage 1 ( meaning phone functions using the oldest ROM ) , just continue to stage 4 and flash the latest ROM
