As far as I know there's a setting on which we could set the default homescreen back to the old android style. But yeah blinkfeed will be the default on factory setting. Same goes for the 3x5 app drawer. You can set it to 4x5 also. Not sure about the horizontal scroll though and yeah horizontal one is alot more better if you ask me.

Regarding root the moment any even average developer who knows how to extract and repack ramdisks get's a hold of the phone then root should be available. I for one can create a rooted phone in just a few hours. Just
Unlock the phone, dump the kernel, extract ramdisk, insert root there, repack ramdisk, reflash kernel = root. But making a custom recovery to root the device is another thing..

And yeah for me the first thing I'm gonna do when I get the phone is the most grandest of all!!!!!!!!!

Press the power button!

Why the hate with apple? lol :D
I could give them credit with the performance of the battery life of their phones.

I say apple is good. It's just

Apple = ordinary users
Android = power users

ios is good if you just plan to use the phone for installing apps, call, text, IM, browse etc.

Just to add, imo,

iOS - for people who don't care about any other stuff than to brag how they're so rich that they have an iphone. In short, hypsters.

Android - for people who are open with tweaking, experimenting, so on and so forth with their phone. In short, devs.

If I can't disable BlinkFeed then I'll be downloading Apex Launcher in the hope that I can do away with it that way, at least until it can be rooted and sorted out properly :D

Show some of my friends and let them be jealous...then see how the screen looks while streaming video from my laptop.

I'm seriously boring !!! ...

The first thing I'll do after taking it out of the box and turning it on is to sync all my data from the desire. Then I'll use it to write a nice long thank you note to HTC Marketing for being generous enough to give it to me as a replacement for my totally smashed one-X. Then, out of respect to the company's Development team, I'll at least spend a week or two coming to terms with the stock software to see how it fits my way of doing things ... After that ... I'll be back to see how the custom rom world is shaping up > :cool: ...

But right now I need a phone I can use for my work so perhaps I'll keep this one in original form until my current contract expires next February, when i can get the next one up and play with this one :)

Here's the (ex)One-X after it tried to make friends with the cooling fan in the back of my Volksrod !!

And believe it or not, the bluetooth still worked well enough to play music on my other car radio afterwards !!

A lot of hate towards blink feed ;) lol imo its actually looks pretty good! Interesting idea. Don't know how the battery life will be affected by it but it seems like I'm like the only person who kind of digs it

I'll run with it .. after all, it's just another home page widget ... there's just more stuff in the one widget than the previous sense collection - which can't be too bad a thing ...

I think quite often the 'bold and the free' just don't like being told what they can and can't have ...

'Mandatory software' is like removable batteries vs external power packs .. and the lack of SD card slots

Well ... All i can say is 'external power packs' and 'cloud storage' ... I'm 63 already and I'm not that far out of touch that I can't see the benefit of universally accessible cloud storage as an alternative to fiddly bits of plastic, and solar rechargeable BIG capacity power packs vs the odd extra battery.
