Hi , i was not able to recompile i followed the instructions and got an error



help :/
am barely trying to learn how to change the taskbar on my phone

All I do.. use 2 versions of apktool, one to decompile the other to compile. Can't remember what versions I use for which operation though.. would need to look

Is it normal? When I decompile the systemUI with it, I get the same error ,but the apk decompile successfully , then in the public.xml I get some id with apktool.dummy that give me a pain to identify with element is invoke in the smali.
Any idea or workaround?

yes thats normal

Please use my apktool.jar if might fix most of your problems apktool.jar

Use 3.21 i think it is to decompile. And then use the latest version to recompile. Then jus do the normal asec and res swap in the orig apk to keep orig signature.
And make sure your dependencys are setup like normal too.
