I am testing the latest nightly 10.1. Two questions:
- chronus. I do not get many widgets to chose from when hitting the "+". Only 9 pieces: Cal, Gmail, Flashlamp, Chronus of course, but where are all the others. I have only one App's widgets, i can find under these 9 to chose from. There is no button "show all widgets". Am i the only one? What is the hint i missed. Maybe reconstructing apps with Titanium BU was not the right way to implement the widgets properly? I do not have a clou.
- second question is: Do anyone really think, the 4.2-Fablet-look and "functionality" is going to impress for a longer period of time?
I do not think so and do really find, that an important task will be, to bring the tablet UI back from 10.0.
The two pulldowns as well as the centered nav-bar make no sense.
And have someone had a look on the activated power menue on the left in landscape mode?
It is nearly as useless as it seems redundant and not understandable, why not bring the tablet UI's pull up and the switches back instead.
At least, kill the komplete Quick-setting pull down on the right and reunite the notifications, the calender/clock/battery and the powermenue.
One place for everything. OK, i know, that it is not that easy as to whish, but we have had the hint with the old UI-app implemented and running on 4.2 some posts ago. I would like to try that and would wish for a development in that direction the most.
For the centered navigation:
The nav-bar settings are not the right idea at all and the option, to place one button to the extreme left and one to the extreme right is no improvement - at least not for the design of the UI... Even if one put "back" and "recent apps" or "home" to these extreme positions, the buttons are too small and the whole thing looks terrible.
I know, that this is a matter of personal taste and so on - it also might be much too much to ask for, because it is impossible or at least hard to achive, but i wanted to express my opinion as a fan of this project, even, if i were the only one, that thinks that way, just to let you know.
And with all the criticism being placed around my 2nd question, i do so much appreciate the developing of 4.2 setup on the GT! :good::highfive:
So I hope to be received constructive enough.
