Xt9 How to keep keyboard QWERTY while using French language
Context:
I have installed the ROM WM6.1 by Kavana it works perfectly.
I have a T-Mobile Dash with QWERTY keyboard, sometimes I need to send SMS in French language. I can change xT9 Language by pressing ATL + SPACE to switch to French Dictionary.
Issue:
The Keyboard switch to AZERTY while I have QWERTY. Do you know how to make the Keyboard stick to QWERTY even if you switch to xT9?

I found the solution for this
=Here is how I fixed it. ================
Edit registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME\LanguageKeyboardIDMapping
You will find the string value named "010C" that's the one controlling keyboard mapping for French.
Edit it and input value data "07FF" for QWERTY basically the same than what you have in string value "*".
Now every time you need to make an entry in French on SMS, notepad... simply press ALT + SPACE chose the French language dictionary, it won't change the keyboard to AZERTY anymore.
Note: this fix work for all other language, you just have to open the string value for the language you have installed. I have changed all other languages values to 07FF since my keyboard is QWERTY

I started to run the ROM update but mt PC crashed and when I restarted my phone, it had the 3 coloured stripes on it and I am not sure how to proceed after that - help please!

I have been using your ROM for some time and love it. Little problem now.

have u tried this, turn off the phone,then press and hold the camera button whilst you put in the usb cable connected to your pc into your phone?it should load bootloader.

That did the trick! After firing up the bootloader, I shut the phone down and did a hard reset....system went through a cold rebot and I'm back up.

I know this post is a bit old, but I am trying to install the rom but every time I start the kavana installation the phone loses connection from the computer.
I have unlocked it.
I have done the 270 fix to the t with and without the CID bypass and I have looked everywhere on the net for an answer.
I do not know what it means when is says disable the usb connection as then the phone will not connect to the pc at all (I took this to mean disable on the pc windows connection manager)
When I try to install I get to the white screen and the Kavana ROM starts to install however immediately the connection is lost and will not reconnect so errors out.
also I take it that the kavana ROM is still the best and the usual windows mobile has not caught up in the mean time? I am a UK bt customer.

I have windows 7 and have tried it with the bt rom flashed and have tried it with and without, (ie have done the reboot and reinstall etc)
im not sure to be honest.if you have flashed an unofficial rom before with no problems then i cant determine what the problem is.
Thanks for your help. All I have done is the hard reset and the bt upgrades, I have not used an unofficial one yet. Will try again another day when the patience reterns
there is a massive bug with the message sounds and alarms in this FW, i just got my phone back from a friend after not having it for 3 days and i had 3 alarms set up in 15 min increments when i turned my phone on it back logged all undismissed alarms and froze my phone trying to play all the alarms at once, i took about 20mins of button pushing before i was able to clear them all and when a message comes through it play the entire ringtone even after i check the message and if i get more then one message it plays the tone again even if the first ringtone hasn't finished w/o stopping the first tone, does anyone know how to resolve this cause that was possibly the most annoying thing i have ever seen/heard, or better yet is there another ROM i could switch to that doesn't do this?

I just upgrade my dash, I cant use the full keybored. if loooks like i have to type sms with the numbers/letter style for ex: number one on the pad= ABC? I know i could change the setting's. but where could i find it?

After Reboot - Choose Voice Command
MS Voice Command will be the default voice command, so if you press cancel, it will be defaulted to MS Voice Command. However, If you do choose Cyberon Voice Command, you need to reboot.(Difference between these two kinds of voice command is that Cyberon voice uses voice-tags that you record, whereas ms voice command doesn't need you to record voice tags(but spoken language only support English)
