T-Mobile does prioritize their own customers over MVNO's. They also prioritize between their own data plans.

From the fine print:
Data traffic of Premium & Ultra Plans will be prioritized over other currently offered plans during periods of congestion.

For $70 /mo. You can get Unlimited Talk, Unlimited Text, and Unlimited Data (no throttling), plus 500 MB Tethering, plus roaming and no contract direct from T-Mobile.

I think $49 for the exact same service (in my experience over 7-months) but with 4GB before throttle (that can be used for Phone or 100% Tether) is a better deal. Furthermore, it is pretty easy to share this deal with 3 friends and $29 is unbeatable.

Quit spreading false information. Tethering is NOT supported on Solavei.

https://support.solavei.com/thread/5112

And for LTE:

Code:

I have some new info that may be of interest to you all. Solavei will not be offering LTE at this time. We will continue to offer unlimited voice, text and data mobile service on a nationwide 4G network for $49/month plus the opportunity to earn income when you share with others.

While differences experienced in network speeds can depend on many things, including time, priority given to a specific phone, etc, it is also possible that this may be the result in the difference in speeds.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Derrick H.

Don't PM this guy because he is obviously spreading false info to get other people to join his ****ty service so he can further reduce his monthly bill.

My signal on straight talk T-Mobile has gotten better. Its been better on my atrix HD than it was on my nexus4 as well.

The refarm to 1900 doesn't make penetration better. It just allows devices with1900 and without 1700/2100 compatible and able to use tmobiles data. At&t uses 850/900(?) and that's the reason they get better penetration

Another plus at&t has over all other carriers is they have sperate and simultaneous voice/data. So you can be on a call and search or use data at the same time.

The thing about this "rep" is she was selling simple mobile, T-Mobile prepaid and used to work T-Mobile tech support and told me this when I asked her how it compared to contract T-Mobile. Why would anyone not switch to SME service for less?...

Lower spectrum in the same band. Off they do, but only when needed because of congestion.

Realize the reasoning behind different apns..

i believe at&t uses 850 and 1900mhz (they get h+ on refarmed tmobile networks).

and as far as i've seen, simultaneous voice and data is doable on any gsm carrier (as long as you are on 3g or h signal, i'm not sure about edge)

What? Did you read your thread you linked to?
Code:
For the time being we do not provide official support. We are looking into it, though, and will let the community know if a decision is made.

...so I guess they don't "officially" support Tethering, but I do it all the time with no issues, and T-Mobile blocking it (even though it worked fine for years before they did that) was the reason I left and found out about Solavei 7-months ago.

And for LTE, I read that exact same post... then I kept reading. Here is the post two below it:
Code:
Re: Solavei LTE

Hello and thank you for your question.

Solavei will support LTE on our network in all areas that our partner supports it.

If our network partner launches LTE in a specific city, Solavei members in that city with an LTE device will get LTE.

There are no specific APN settings for LTE at this time.

The reply you posted was from an uninformed customer support that didn't understand T-Mobile was getting LTE. The above post confirms that Solavei will get whatever T-Mobile gets... 1900MHz and LTE are no exception.

...you should really make sure you know what you are talking about before flaming someone saying they are spreading lies. I am 100% honest about all of my knowledge. I'm not always 100% right, but I try my best to be, and I do not spreading false information about things I do not have personal experience with.

EDIT: Also FYI, I only have 6 people, all friends & family. I'd share this plan with everyone even if it wasn't worth a referral to me.

... no, tethering is not allowed on Solavei.
*yawn* Like I said already, LTE and Tethering is not allowed or OFFICIALLY supported on Solavei. It's against your contract terms to use them. They can boot you off their network for doing so.

Ok, technically you are correct by the TOS (I learned something, thanks!)...

Code:
17. * Misuse of Service or Device – Your Representation. By activating or renewing Service with Solavei,
you agree that you do so because you want Service from Solavei and not for any other purposes. You agree
not to misuse the Service or Device, including but not limited to:
(...)
(j) using your Device as a modem or tethering your Device to a personal computer or other hardware;
This one is funny too:
(d) tampering with or modifying your Solavei Device;
What does that mean, when most people bring their own device? You can't root it?

Anyway, legal mumbo jumbo aside... I used to do occasional tethering with T-Moible. One day my cable went down and I used it more than normal. They did something so anything over port 80 stopped working. I switch to Solavei. I have had many heavy-use days and it still works great for me. I have not heard of anyone being cancelled for it, and I have seen Solavei CSR's say it is not officially supported, but it works fine (with no warning not to do it).

Where do you have anything backing up that LTE is not allowed? The Solavei CSR said it would work same as their "partner network".

Mobile Broadband and tethering service are not supported by Solavei. In the event that members do, Solavei reserves the right to cancel the service of those Members.

But what I found more disturbing was:

Read the "Shared Information" section.
