Oh I see! Sorry, I've been using TWRP for quite some time, I originally flashed the boot image from Omnirom via fastboot or flashtool (can't remember which!) and have been updating it via flashable zip from Techerrata ever since. So I haven't tested yours.

There's no recovery for me. And whatever rom I flash thereafter can't boot to recovery. Flashing stock now, and flash new recovery...

I should dd the twrp image I guess.

*edit* For a new rom this is excellent! Dynamic status and navbar work perfect. There's a couple of minor issues but I'll have a good play tomorrow and let you know my observations if you like. Here or G+?

Error 7 while trying to install

Hello to all and thank you for the great work. I have been trying for the last 2 days to install this rom. I go through the root process and then use TWRP or CWR and when I try to install I get the error 7 install has stopped message. I have tried several methods posted on Youtube and none have helped. If anyone here could point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it. My tab is the Xperia Tablet Z SGP311 WiFi model.

Regards,
Ricky

u basically got this error cuz u not following op steps.
its written to fastboot flash included boot.img in zip and THEN to boot to recovery (cuz all custom kernel contains a recovery) in order to flash rom and gapps ...but apparently twrp is broken on my lasts build so take an older one...
Cheers ;)

Hello Alx3ITLse,

If i may ask one more question. I have been trying to install this rom for over 5 days. I have installed roms for many years and never have been as stuck as I am with this one.. I undrstand your previous reply and thank you. My current problem is that I can't get into adb to fastboot, I have downloaded every possible driver and read as many threads on ADB as I could. I have tried 3 different computers with win7 and win8 and the pc's recognize the tablet when I connect but ADB doesn't. If I try the command (adb devices) it returns a serial # but If I do (fastboot devices) i get nothing or "waiting for device". Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sincere Thanks,
Cheers

Don't skip the steps of setting up variables in windows during the setup of adb...

Hi Alx31TLse,

I can't explain exactly how I got here, but something clicked after your last reply. I was under the impression that Unlocking and Rooting where the same thing. Please take a quick look below and confirm that I am now unlocked and that your boot.img has been successfully written to the tab? I really appreciate all your help and the quick replies.

Alx31TLse, I can't boot into CWM. I have tried several times, all I get by the power button is the indicator light will flash once followed by 3 more flashes. Nothing else happens....totally at a loss now. All help appreciated, and sorry for all the newb mistakes.

Hi Alx31TLse,

I ended up flashing back to stock firmware since I couldn't find any other way into the tab other than Flashtool. The good thing was I found a 4.4.4 firmware and it's a huge improvement over the 4.1.2 this tab was running. I would imagine I lost the boot.img I loaded previously for your rom once I did this. I will give it another try though in the next few days. I just wanted to thank you again for all your help. Flashing,Rooting and all around working on a Sony Tab was pretty new to me, but with your help I was able to learn alot about the different steps, resources and solutions. It's people like you in this community that have made it my only site for modding my phones for the last 10 years or so. Regards, and if we don't communicate again for a bit I want to wish you and everyone in the community a Wonderful Thanksgiving, Happy Chanukah and a Merry Christmas.

Cheers,
Ricky

Hi All
I have a Z tablet 16GB WiFi with 4.4.4
Have rooted, unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP.
Prob is I cant seem to flash any custom ROM successfully.
As soon as I flash the boot.img the tablet reboots to Sony logo and that's it. I cant get back into recovery or system.
If I don't flash boot.img and try to install a _Windy ROM from recovery it tells me I have a Pollux tablet. If I flash the _pollux it flashes successfully but of course tablet will not reboot.
Any thoughts?

First of all you can't flash .IMG files on recovery. .IMG files are to be flashed via fastboot through a Linux/windows computer.

You have a Pollux_windy tablet so you'll need a flashable ROM for that that you can flash in recovery.

What do you mean that tablet won't start after flashing windy?

    About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

    Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

    4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.

    5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
