How to disable mute mode?

Is there a way to to disable mute mode on the S3?

I've tried stock and CM10 and have not found such a feature yet. I am often finding my phone muted when I press down volume several times to ensure vibrate mode is on (at least that was my intention and habit).

anyone has any ideas on this?

I would love this feature as I hate the phone going into mute mode accidenty where it doesn't vibrate

One way to work around it, is to install an app like Volume Control+ and set a preset/profile and schedule it to set itself every so often.
