Hey guys, I'm pretty new to rooting/flashing so I didn't want to break my SIII doing this. Instead, I'm going to try it out with my old Verizon Galaxy Stellar (SCH-I200), and I figured it couldn't hurt to come to the best resource and see if my process is correct.
So I found out that the 4.1.2 ota makes it impossible to root/flash. I found a guide here(Post #113) detailing how to downgrade the bootloader. Does that seem like a good idea?
Next, I'd like to flash a custom ROM, I'm thinking cyanogen mod, and I've heard 10.1 can work for this device. Which version should I get? And can I just flash this as soon as the custom recovery is installed through that linked process?
