One issue I've found, not sure if it's specific to me, but the calendar is not syncing. It doesn't show up under my Google Account in settings, and if I try and setup a calendar to sync, it starts to run what appears to be the account setup process again, but it fails. Anyone else having this issue? edit: it appears to be only Google Account calendars, I just setup my work Exchange account and that calendar is syncing properly.

Is there a build document for CM11 Skyrocket/Herc/Exh on TC.org yet? I'm itching to start building again... :)

It was happened to me. I installed the google calendar on Playstore to fix it.

Great job on this, so far so good. A couple questions though, is the status bar supposed to be a grey/white hue because all the icons are that colour. Also, I know it's alpha, but are there settings for the lock screen and status bar yet? Thanks so much for the work.

Edit: I just noticed that LTE is not available to select from Network Mode no big deal, just reporting bugs. Also Apollo and DSP Manager are working perfectly!

If I choose to not install gapps right away and just play with 4.4 will it install? It honestly just occurred to me as I was typinh this that this could be the reason why I can't install it. I just keep soft bricking. I know yes it's in the instructions but I've flashed Roms all the time without gapps just to play around at first. Could this be the reason that I can't get her to run? I'll try anyways just seeing what happens first. A reply or gapps finished downloading lol.

Thanks for getting 4.4 so fast. Phenomenal devs for the skyrocket!

You can absolutely install the ROM only but your Google functionality goes away.

Known issue.

This has been fixed and will be in the next release. The settings functionality from the menu press has also been corrected.

You can't, yet. Obviously the framework has changed enough that all the CM mods aren't there yet.

Correct. There is still a LOT of work to do getting the CM'isms ported into 4.4. We got this release out VERY early in the process, so expect a lot of changes between alphas as more features get merged.

With that being said, we're looking to hear back about significant problems - like crashes and such. No need to report back on specific features not being present yet, there is a lot still missing.

Cheers!

I can't seem to delete email sync'd with my work exchange account. The deleted emails come back on the next sync attempt.

I also noticed that the autocomplete list in my exchange account was sync'd to my contacts. Thats lovely but i email a ton of people daily and dont want to see their contact info sync'd to my android contacts. i couldnt find an option to sync contacts only. thanks for the great alpha very stable.

This ROM hates me lol. Follow the instructions, redownload everything, won't work. I get the opening "Samsung i727" text and then a black screen and then the phone reboots itself constantly or just shuts itself off. I don't know what to do :(.

Edit: anyone have a mirror? Dev host never completes my download for whatever reason. Always end up downloading on pv and using a usb or airdroid to get it to my phone.

Make sure you're using the right recovery as well.

Experience issues? Please provide the following info:
    • If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
    • If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.

We're aware of the audio issue - sorry guys, major slacking going on here keeping up with the device. I've honestly been completely disconnected for weeks with life taking priority over hobbies.

Regardless, I'm going to get in touch with topprospect in the next couple days to tackle the issue. We've been able to replicate it, so that's good. Just have to carve out the time to actually do something to fix it.

    • updated: Kernel updated from 3.0.89 to 3.0.101
    • fixed: recent apps works now (long hold Home)
    • fixed: install assert might fail in recovery
    • fixed: in Launcher3, Settings button was a no-op in overview
    • new: more CM functionality merged in -- e.g. Privacy Guard (but much more still missing)

See for download and install/update instructions:

    Alpha3 released!

Alpha3 is up. Please head over to http://www.teamchopsticks.org/p/cm110-release-notes.html for download links and instructions.

    Changes since alpha2:
    • new: tap-to-pay support in Google Wallet -- enabled, but may not work. Please test!
    • fixed: Activating Google Keyboard makes the device unstable (e.g. Back, Search and Menu buttons don't work, Google Keyboard FC's)
    • fixed: In Settings->About Phone->Status, "Battery Status" says "Not Charging" when plugged into USB.
    • fixed: LPA audio is disabled
    • fixed: ART JVM could not be selected without causing massive FC's -- NOTE: When switching to ART, the next reboot can take up to 10 minutes!

Google Wallet: We enabled tap-to-pay support for Google Wallet but are unsure if it actually works. I couldn't get it working at the one CVS store I tried my Skyrocket in, so please test and give feedback.

New gapps required: Even if you are upgrading from a previous alpha, please format /system and flash the gapps listed in the release notes (step #5). This is important if you want to try out the new ART JVM.

ART is enabled, but beware: The new ART JVM is apparently a work-in-progress and we suggest that you stick with DALVIK. ART causes problems with some Play Store apps and may cause other random behavior. Also, after enabling ART, the next reboot can take ~10 mins. Anyway, no support from us if you try out ART!

Yes, It still is. I should be corrected if I am wrong but I don't think it's much of a priority right now as it is to get all of the CM features in our ROM first.

Cyanogen is overhauling the camera app as a whole, so were mostly waiting for that to be completed. Then, topprospect is working on a wrapper for the camera blobs so that any tweaks we have to make for msm8660 will be applied to even 3rd party camera apps.
