tl;dr it's AOSP with PA's 4.3 PIE ported. (That's the good one, not the new one).
I've been running this build since the 9th of February and haven't had any problems.

You need unlocked bootloader (duh). Need the latest TWRP or CWM recovery.
Flash like any other zip.

Camera fix
Bug AOSP causes video recordings to have a green line along the bottom. This is fixed by replacing /system/lib/libmmcamera_interface.so with the one from the factory image (attached to this post).

I tried the new PIE straight after it was released. Was sorely disappointed at how lacking it is compared to the old one, and I saw some reddit comments of the same opinion, so I released this.

The hosts file is merged from the first few results when searching for ad blocking hosts files on Google and also VanirAOSP's hosts file.
Don't remember exactly where they're from, but these are the comments in them:

Flashed this, no su & my recovery is gone. When I boot to recovery I just get the Android on his back, little red triangle. Flashed using philz cwm based recovery. Any trick to get the koush su working

Edit, got it. Went in & changed superuser access to apps only & it worked. Yahoo

Still no recovery but I'll just use flashify app & put twrp on there & then flash philz

My recovery doesn't get touched when flashing with TWRP.
Could be a problem with the recovery you're using.

Any intention of bringing in other PA features like the interactive tiles and stuff? I would love to try this but the Google tap to enter and hold to toggle thing scares me. And no led control is obnoxious (bad Google). Glad to see someone took the time to port the 4.3 version (I agree better). thanks!

proper extended desktop is coming soon.
as a workaround i think there are xposed modules for it

I got it to flash with clockwork recovery. Just said 'failed' in red with twrp.

20140308 is uploading. It has expanded desktop. Just activate from the power menu.

It feels so damn good having everything always reaching the very edge of the screen.

Minor known issue: whenever you open an app, for a split second there's a bit of black at the top of the screen where the status bar normally is. I'll fix it eventually, but it's barely noticeable, so low priority.
