Hey, I was wondering if there was a way to remove the "Verizon Wireless" marquee from the GS5 lock screen (to the left of the Home button). I'm assuming root is required, but not sure and I didn't see an option in the lock screen settings. Thanks.

Try this, settings->lockscreen->additional information and make sure it is set to off.
Thanks for the suggestion, but no luck. It would be awesome to remove or edit, but I have my doubts on accessing it.

Getting root and full access may be the only way to modify things like this. People that want stuff like this, go donate in the bounty thread and help us enable control of things like you're asking about.
