Don't know why the buttons aren't working. Try reflashing? Or another kernel?

I'm glad everyone is liking the rom!

I don't have any issues with heat. But then again I flashed this the old fashioned way. Since version .5. Hell raised on phone. Also I'm using ld3 modem and neak kernel. About to try siyah new one soon. Wonder if porting it is causing some sort of issue?

I notice the heat builds up when the phone is doing something (Duh...) but even if i have the screen off when music is playing in the background, it will still get hot. Maybe the CPU is getting stuck at higher frequencies?

this is how android will look in a couple of mere hours, total f'ing revolution, total freedom, completely obliterates all frontiers that once existed between tablets and phones, best from both worlds. code's up and running, very happy with it. needs to be cast into the settings-panel, need to find good default prop values and its ready to dominate the rom world.

Go to performance and look at the CPU, if it keeps going up and down then that's the isssue. Maybe it's the Siyah paired with the KH7 modem?

Yea, I looked and you're right. The frequency kept bouncing between around 500 ~ 1200

EDIT: I'm using the kernel that came with the ROM..... so i believe Siyah 3.2.3?

I just tried this again. Same heat issues. CPU fluctuating between 100-500-800 and mostly stays on 1200. I did put a new modem in and yes I did a complete wipe. Fresh install. Formatted system and both internal and external. Charging phone now and hot to the touch. Im going to check the i9100 forum and see if anything is said about it. I really want to like this but if the heat issue isnt resolved looks like I will be going to something else.

Have you wiped cache and dalvik cache? That's also part of full wipe. See what happens if you flash jivy's kernel cleaner. Sounds like you may have residual files in there ramping up your kernel. If that doesn't get you any where have you tried changing kernel settings in extweaks?

Yes I did a full wipe. I didnt find an answer in the i9100 thread. Ill try a different kernel. Will any CM9 kernel work? Just want to make sure. Ill also try the kernel cleaning script.

I am having the same heat issues and I wiped everything. It heats up real hot during use and even hotter if I plug it to charge. Takes over 9 hours to charge and about 2 hours to drain the battery. I really wanted to try this rom going back to hydrog3n ics rom for now

You may just need to do kernel clean and configure it differently. Not every persons phone reacts the same way. What works for one person may not work for another. Sounds like you have to change governor and scheduler to me IMHO. Try setting the steps the kernel takes back down to 5 and set governor to ondemand/noop that should keep the phone from heating up a bit

Edit: spelling

    v1.6
    Built from source - 10/7/2012 - 00:27:58
OTA app changed (This trashes OTA update, please download manually this version). More responsive methods

Improvements on frameworks, fixed for once and finally all DPI related crashes
SystemUI mode can be configured now
Cleanup and speedup of hybrid code via native libs (I'd say 25%)
A lot more of changes, you can check them here: https://github.com/ParanoidAndroid

    Keyboard scaling, an androids first
PAD/PAL bugfixes for apps that still crop images in lower dpis
Settings revamp, speed preferences to switch between modes without having to set up anything, less clutter
Trebuchet extras: 3x4 widgets, speed dial menu button, ... and some weird rocket button which im sure will be very useful to most of you
Pad.prop revamp, new preferences that should pretty much nail it. Im sorry but this trashes your old settings again, do not attempt to restore them unless you do it in a text editor

    v1.4
Built from source, 3:03pm COT. Synced with latest Paranoid sources
Fixed most of the issues with pad & pal, now facebook, whatsapp, keyboards, etc will be shown just fine
PAD/PAL work in phonemode 100%, no weird toggles and stuff like that. you get full tablet apps without caveats
Settings cleanup, most of the garbage dpi options are gone, should be more intuitive - i ask you to not bring your old pad.props though some things changed. if you know what you do take a look and edit by hand
Trashed our LatinIME repo - not needed anymore
Fixed OTA 100%, now it should never hang on 99%
