I flashed the wrong modem!! I have a i605 that's been rooted and unlocked to run on att towers. What should I do to fix this so I have baseband back. Please help
I'm one of those who have Chinese USSD codes coming up on my phone. I've flashed the Optus Australia and Vodafone UK modem+csc files from the OP, but the codes are still in Chinese. How do I fix this?
Everyone I ask just says "flash another modem". I've done that with TWRP, it's not working... or am I doing it wrong?
Well, to correct that issue, the solution is, in fact, to flash another modem, being that the correct / most recent one for your country / carrier.
Try this:
1. Turn your phone completely off
2. Take battery out for some seconds
3. Reinsert battery and boot to recovery
4. Flash modem via Recovery
5. Shutdown device again.
6. Repeat steps 2. a to 4.
7. Reboot system.
If that doesn't flash the modem successfully, maybe you need to flash modem via PC ODIN.
Did this work for you? I see you're on Wilson3q's ROM, I had the same problem there and I couldn't get it fixed... Just tried it again with no luck. Installed the Australian modem, still getting Chinese I'm gonna try the Odin method again, done it before and it didn't work but nothing wrong with trying again. Thanks for you suggestions!
Easier said than done when the modem isn't listed on this thread
I never had that issue, but via PM I helped a Portuguese user that doesn't write / read well in English, and he had the same problem on wilson3q ROM, and flashing the Portuguese TMN latest modem via TWRP on a Note 2 LTE International fixed it for him.
Want to try and flash that TMN modem? PM me and I'll send you the zip I sent him if it's worth a shot for you. :good:
Edit: That method of shutting down the phone, remove battery stuff and flash twice, I picked up from a Note 3 thread on "How to flash a modem successfully every time". :good:

You can download the firmware with the modem you want from sammobile.com, then unzip / untar that firmware and pick the file modem.bin.
Download a zip from this thread with a indication of modem only zip (so the CSC don't get overwritten / confused).
Open the zip with "7zip" or "winrar" and without extracting the files, delete modem.bin from inside the zip and repack with the modem.bin you got off the firmware download from sammobile.com
Only inconvenient is that you must download the full firmware for your device, which is bigger than the zips in this thread, but it's a solution. :highfive:
Uploaded are CWM flashable modems for some firmwares I have already downloaded. Thanks to artbab for pointing out other files were required to completely change modem (csc).
What the update zips do:
*deletes current CSC files
*installs new modem CSC files
*installs new modem
modem only file just installs modem!

If there's a modem you want available as easy CWM flash, please let me know. Subject to available bandwidth, and availability of the source rom itself. I'll sort out a flashable modem for you. This is for N7105 only.
Please don't ask which modem is best for me. Different modems perform better for different regions and network conditions, so try Modem only files yourself and report back if your region is unsupported.
May I please request the modem/baseband for the new Australia Optus firmware?
