In the past sprint has been terrible. But recently 3g in my area has gotten way better so has wimax and call reception. I don't know if they've rolled out network vision or not but it sure seems like it. I'm in orange county

I've been with sprint for 4 years now, and I must say in my area (Portland OR) Everything has been awesome UNTIL the Iphone launched on sprint, I have seen a big decrease in speed and call quality since that day due to the major traffic upping from the sales, and lately I'm getting very frustrated even worse so we have NO LTE here so im stuck with 3G that at times only downloads at best less than 0.5mbit. Ive called sprint a few times and they have said they are having tower issues and working on it but now im at the point where at work I can't even make a call without it dropping unless I walk down the street (new issue) These issues coupled with no LTE I'm about to jump ship and go verizon, I loved sprint for the first couple years I had it with my EVO 4G (wimax) but now it just seems overloaded in my area

@steveman09

I hear ya
As you can see in my signature, I left Sprint about 2 months ago, because not being able to complete a phone call for 2 months was the last straw.
Although crappie data speeds was more than enough reason to leave, I put up with it, which I shouldn't have.
The calling issues was extremely frustrating to say the least.
But I've had seamless service with Verizon, and am very happy I made the switch.
I too put up with every excuse in the book given to me by Sprint, which delayed my eventual departure.
After all, it's Sprint's job to keep you as a customer, but if you see it just ain't gonna be, leave for greener pastures as they say.....

If you compared the dBm to the bars if you have full bars it should show -85 to -89 dBm anything higher should show less bars, but the bars lie. :thumbup: the mod I'm talking about is the option to show dBm instead of bars in the status bar like cm has.

Thanks, I have since enabled the signal text in the status bar just so I can keep an eye on exactly what my strength is.

I noticed you said -85 was perfect, I was once in the *#*#4636#*#* phone settings and could swear I saw -65 dBm as the current value. Were my eyes playing tricks on me?

Sent from my EvoLTE so please pardon any typos

He's just talking. You can get way better than -85, like you saw with your -65 reading.

Also, since you must have missed my post, you don't need to set it to dBm to see the correct data signal on AOSP ROMs. The signal meter shows the data signal in AOSP ROMs. I even provided proof of that in my other post. The other guy was just saying stuff; I'm not sure why. His post was more misinformation than information. The only thing he got right was that Touchwiz and Sense show voice signal at all times.
