Help with unbricking

I am running the ics leak 4.0.3 rooted; also .flashed clockwork mod recovery 5.8.2.0 in rom manager. but I currently cannot unbrick from the unbrick guide at the top of the general posts nor can I unbrick from this file method. Lg flash tool always returns latest software-no update needed, I followed both instruction guides to the the "T". modified the hosts.txt file. flushed the dns, the whole nine--Is there a self-extracting rom/program that can downgrade automatically or flash custom rom for customer recoveries? (when I attempt recovery goes to fastboot) Or can u post a video of the process; just to be absolutely clear on the processes of completing the unbricking? ty in advance -- I'm a total noob with android --1st android phone.

u are the man bro..
i am exactly at the same spot, both unbricking process is no go for me..
was going to ask for a video guide to follow through, tried all the changes here and there but no luck-running win 7 64X don't know if that's causing it.

and i just wanted to check if we could try CM10 preview-rooting with tspark root and clockwork recovery with ics leak.

Its a full 300 MEG File in .TOT format needs to be flashed using LGNPST. It is not the standard system, recovery, boot.img formats.

You must use LGNPST to flash the device, but you can flash in recovery mode to unbrick a device.

Make sure when you save the host file that you save it without an extension. So don't add .txt or anything to the end of it.

From your symptoms, it doesn't sound like your host file is setup, and I'd bet money that it's because you changed it to a text file because NotePad automatically tries to add it for you. Windows will create a new one if this happens so you'll probably see two files in there now, one "host" and the other "host.txt".

my friend i finally got it through the trick was not to close the pop up window that appeared stating now the app is working in evo mode only 3 users will be allowed while running the https.exe(shttps folder) file..and make sure you run every thing in admin mode by right clicking on mouse.

I've been looking todo this for about 2 weeks now, i finally have the time. I'm using 2.3.5 (i didn't know at the time i let it update) and win7 64. I've noticed several people have issues rooting 2.3.5, and also using win7.
Has anyone been able to do this using 2.3.5 and win7 64 before I get started and get stuck halfway through this?
Thanks all.

I have used the unbricking method in this thread and I have both of those. It should work fine if you follow the steps closely.

2nd: clink i agree all and also update entry in main menu(so u can see the folder it is extracted to) and add to start up(it auto pops up on start up and gives to first privilege)..
3rd:-now extract the www.zip forlder to C:\shttps folder(make sure u have the files inside the www.zip inside the shttp folder *this is important as it contains the info to launch the the tools to act like a mini server"Were we both went wrong figured it out after a million try's"). check the screen shot to get a better idea.
4th:-now flush the DNS in cmd.exe right click and run in admin and restart the pc.,
5th:-now when pc starts up shttps should show up on start up-now do not i repeat do not close any pop up-just click on show desk top to minimize it(check the screenshot for pop up info)..
6th:now run the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe and follow the guide..

You don't understand. The problem that he was having was not fixable in CWM. It was some kind of corruption in a partition that CWM doesn't backup.

How to Unbrick, Root, And Install CWM

Disclaimer: This guide is for your information only. I am not responsible for any further damage cause to your device by not following the guide correctly. Parts of this guide are based on the Unbricking guide produced by XDA member, Machzelet. Namely the Unbrick process.

This guide will give you step by step instructions on how to initially unbrick, root, and install ClockWorkMod Recovery on your LG Nitro HD. You will also learn how to make yourself a CWM backup that you can use to unbrick your Nitro whenever you need to... even when you are away from your PC.

NOTE: More people have had success using this guide on Windows XP than Windows 7.

It is understood by the author that CWM and CWM backups are nothing new to the XDA community. This guide is less about groundbreaking discoveries and more about clarification and introduction of an on-the-fly unbricking concept. As with all posts on the community forum, this guide is not set in stone and can/will be changed upon suggestion from other XDA Forum members.

    Required Downloads
    • Nitro_Unbrick.zip (760.24MB) (Unzip to the location of your choice. 7zip is recommended.)

    Notes Before You Start
    • Make sure to allow the phone to boot into the stock ROM at least once before flashing any other ROMs.

    Unbrick the Phone
    1. Copy ‘Android’ folder to C:\
    2. In the ‘Run…’ dialog, type “sysdm.cpl” and press enter.
    3. Click the ‘Advanced’ tab.
    4. Click the ‘Environment Variables…’ button.
    5. In the ‘System Variables’ section, highlight the entry labeled ‘Path’.
    6. Click the ‘Edit…’ button at the bottom of the window.
    7. Add “;C:\Android” to the end of the Variable Value.
    8. Click ‘OK’.
    9. Click ‘OK’.
    10. Click ‘OK’.
    11. Log out of Windows and log back in.
    12. Once logged in, run the exe in the ‘LGP930’ folder to ensure that the Nitro drivers are installed. (This should install all of the necessary drivers. However, if it does not, install the drivers in the sub-folder as well.)
    13. Once drivers are installed, run the exe file in the ‘shttp3’ folder.
    14. Check the box to agree to the license.
    15. Click ‘Install’.
    16. When finished, run “C:\shttps\http.exe”.

    20. Extract the file named ‘www.zip’ located in the ‘shttp3’ folder to “C:\shttps\www”.
    21. Edit the ‘hosts’ file in “C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc” and add the following line: “127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com”
    22. Save the file.
    23. In the ‘Run…’ dialog, type “ipconfig /flushdns”.
    24. Run the file named “B2CAppSetup.exe” located in the ‘KDZ_FW_UPD_EN’ folder and then close it.
    25. Run the file named “UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe” located in the ‘KDZ_FW_UPD_EN’ folder. (If you get errors, you may need to install msxml.msi.)
    26. In the ‘Merge’ section, click the folder next to the ‘Select model.dll’ field.

That would be sweet. A jtag will cost me $80 plus shipping. My phone will not power on. Not even the buttons at the bottom light up. When I connect to a Windows 7 PC via USB (I have the proper LG drivers installed), the notification bubble in my system tray says: QHUSB_DLOAD instead of the LG Driver name you get after installation. I flashed a JB 4.1.2 custom ROM AND kernel clearly marked for another phone (i9100), and after a restart, I get a black screen. Bricked. Any help would be appreciated.

This guide won't be useful unless you can get to download mode.

So is this a way to get back to stock from ics leak? Or would I still need to unbrick into the korean version?

Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app

No, this will take you into the Korean version. It is essentially the same as Machzelet's guide. I just clarified a few of the steps, added a different rooting method, and explained ClockWorkMod Recovery installation and backup/restore.

    Yes I am I try:
    CDMA-Emergency
    I try all possible combinations

All I can recommend is trying the emergency mode with att firmware. When I was having trouble, this was the only firmware that would boot on my phone.
