[Q] Xyboard (Xoom2) 8.2 Verification of Stock ROM
I apologize if this is a repeat, I did the best I could to try and find any existing threads related to this matter.
I purchased a Verizon Wireless Motorola Xyboard 8.2 off eBay and from the moment I first turned the device on I have had my doubts about the ROMs authenticity. From the start I have been able to "Disable" the preinstalled bloatware, which I have never seen in the Android OS before. I am also now receiving Advertisements in the notifications area, which I have done my best to disable. The most annoying and questionable program I found were called PAYGService, Rescue Security, and there are virtually no Verizon apps installed. Plus I can not download the My Verizon Wireless app nor can I plug into my computer and copy files (photos, music, ringtones, etc.) over to my device or from it. I have downloaded terminal emulators and tried requesting SU permissions and failed each time, I downloaded a root checker and it turned up negative. Is there a way to verify my ROM is stock/unaltered by the eBay seller? I do not want to risk a security breach with my data because of this device.
