Dude just a suggestion. You should make the classic apps default again, if someone wants to change them then flash the package. I think is better to keep thing simple fro the main rom.
Love the rom btw keep up the awesome work.

I don't know if it's sarcasm :D but if don't, apart of the Zoozle says, you obtain a probably broke phone.apk, because AOKP doesn't work with lower dpi's ;)

---------- Post added at 04:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:45 PM ----------

First of all are you sure that follow the steps that are on the FAQ? http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=25192692&postcount=24428 If yes so, are you really sure that flash the Gapps, and finally in which DPI are you?

Thank you I got it sorted. I only miss the battery icon in the top bar having numbers. Thank you again

This ROM is so awesome. I jumped on at 1.3 and have upgraded each and everytime and its run beautifully. Big THANKS to the powers that be for this ROM.

I haven't had any major problems at all with this ROM. Minor little things that i've noticed others have had also. But my greatest annoyance is the lack of sound when the bootanimation runs. Not a biggie in the grand scheme of an awesome ROM such as this but in all my reading of this entire thread plus all the ones that reference boot animation and boot sound issues i have not had a working solution for me.

I would like to confirm that i am currently on 1.5 with stock kernel and no sound. with thoravukk kernel = no sound. 1.4 i had no sound nor 1.3. Boot animations work with no problems for me, its simply getting the sound to work. ive tried poweron files in mp3, ogg and wav format in the system/media, data/local, system/etc directories. Also tried android_audio mp3, ogg and wav files in all the above directories. ANd still no love. I was even looking at the code in the build.prop file that supposedly enables the bootsound but i didnt want to change anything in case.

Is this ROM capable of bootsound or not? i know before i rooted it worked fine :-D

P.S People should TRY SEARCHING B4 asking questions. The same questions keep getting asked and the answer is either in the posts above or previous pages. LOL The FAQ has all the common ones, hence frequently asked questions. :-D

« Extended steps to install the ROM

The steps on the OP are very clear but apparently some users miss some things or can't get a properly installation so, here are the extended steps (personally i'm always use this method):

If you are on Thoravukk kernel the first step to install the ROM it's back to the Stock Kernel(CM9) then you can continue:

  1. Reboot into recovery
  2. Wipe Data / Factory Reset
  3. Wipe Cache Partition
  4. Install the Main ROM
  5. In recovery go to Advanced
  6. Wipe Dalvik Cache
  7. Fix Permissions
  8. Wipe Cache Partition
  9. Reboot
  10. If at the first boot you can't do the configuration of the google account, skip this step and continue
  11. When you boot into the system, it's probably that you don't have data enabled (3g, H+) just reboot
  12. When you boot again into the sistem the data will be enable and you can do the configuration of Google Account (if you don't do this before)
  13. This is the moment for install all the extras like themes, fix's, kernels, etc.
  14. Enjoy!!!

« I'm have a several battery draining ¿Why?

The user dave7802 give us a very good explanation in this post: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24725659&postcount=20229

Of course that it's not everything, for example, many users are reporting that the lasts versions of Siyah are not the best option to have your battery safe, others said that Thoravukk it's an awesome option. I'm always read the feedback of the users when i'm wake up i'm read all the posts of the night so the, probably best, order of the kernels to have a better battery it's:

  1. Thoravukk version 2.23
  2. Stock of Resurrection (CM9)
  3. Siyah Kernel with some of the betas
but remember this is very subjective, all depends of your customization, if you want more info. about Governors, Kernels, Voltages, etc. please read this post:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1369817

« ¿Where are the Call Recording?

Unfortunately Call Recording it's imposible to port to AOKP...for the moment ;)

« ¿Where are the Radio FM?

The lasts versions of Resurrection are AOKP and the Radio can't be included, the option it's test some app that give this feature but i don't know if works properly, as example you can see this post by deltasync and give it a try: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24902210&postcount=22330

« The lights of capacitive (menu and back) buttons doesn't work ¿What can i do?

This is a weird issue, for some people works well for some others don't, first of all the settings of this feature are on: Settings -> Device Settings -> Sensors -> Touch buttons, then you can try enable from there, if don't work please look the following post, it's a possible solution by SoulTerrox

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=25009183&postcount=23321

Also you can try flashing Thoravukk kernel, it's reported that with this kernel the behavior of light it's the right one (just a few seconds on and then off) check this post of Vreestyle:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24913430&postcount=22368

« The vibration intensity for pulsations it's to hard ¿How can reduce that?

By default it's not possible, but you can deactivate the vibration on Settings -> Sound. If you are user of Siyah Kernel then try reduce that via ExTweaks https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.darekxan.extweaks.app personally i'm not tested this yet, but some users of Resurrection are reporting that works

Please remember, ExTweaks only works with Siyah Kernel's

« I'm set the 'Honeycomb' lockscreen and now i can't unlock the phone ¿What can i do?

On v1.3 the best that you can do it's choose another lockscreen mode, but if you are on this trouble just send an email to you or call from another phone, anything that sends you a notification will unlock the phone so you could go to settings and make the change.

On v1.4 You can unlock the phone swipe to up the icon, even that you can't see an icon the phone will be unlocked.

« If i set the lockscreen pattern as method of unlock my lockscreen wallpaper dissapear ¿What can i do?

First of all, not dissapear just show the same wall that in homescreen, but the point is, ¿why i can't have a personalized wallpaper and the pattern working?

That's because you set the lockscreen wallpaper with ROM Control settings and the pattern with the 'normal' settings, this ones 'substitute' the settings of ROM control and as we can't set lockscreen wallpaper from 'normal' settings it's not possible have the combo!

I hope that in the new versions of AOKP be included on ROM Control the setting for pattern, in this way you never experienced this problem again.

On the changelog of AOKP B33 says that this feature it's fully working, unfortunately wes experimented some troubles to making work, we hope soon the update to have the full functionality in this setting ;)

« ¿How can i change the bootanimation?

For the bootanimations featured on the Mirrors Index v1.6 i make flashable files through recovery too, so this is another option ;)

First of all, i know that are many apps on Play Store that let us make this change but, in the same way that with DPI i like the manual mode, i prefer make the changes myself whenever i can so, here are the steps:

  1. Make a backup of the original Bootanimation file it's on the path /system/media and it's call bootanimation.zip
  2. Download the animation that you want, on the mirrors index are many of them: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24938647&postcount=22537
  3. Rename the file that you download to bootanimation.zip (in case that the name was different)
  4. Copy the bootanimation.zip to your SD card
  5. Copy the file to the path /system/media, this process need to be made with some file explorer that let you change the permissions from 'Read Only' to 'Read and Write' (i'm always working with Root Explorer)
  6. Replace the original bootanimation.zip with the one that you download
  7. Reboot and it's done

If you want a bootanimation that includes sound, be enough that you put the .wav file on the path /system/etc but if don't work then take a look on this post courtesy of tim132:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=25087050&postcount=23865

« ¿How can i change the font of the ROM?

Unfortunately there no are a default setting to make this change, but you can do it with the combo of ROM Toolbox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox and Font Installer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer

thanks to PatrickWu for the tip!

« About USB mass storage and MTP connections

On v1.6 you can select the connection mode going to:

Settings - Storage Size - Clic on Menu Button - PC Connection - And select the one that you want, if you have some troubles with MTP take a look on these posts please:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24739865&postcount=20514
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24745191&postcount=20606
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24759949&postcount=20953

thanks to khelyaan, eldecanopy and lbsonic for the information.

« ¿Where are the files of my External SD?

This time the manage the external sd it's different way, now the external SD it's called /emmc, there are your files. You can access to this folder with any file explorer (even the built-in one). Just open the file manager, select the "mnt" button, the one between the Home icon and SD icon. Inside you'll find emmc.

« ¿Ok, but then how set my external SD like "external_sd" instead of "emmc"?

Please check this post courtesy of lbsonic:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24983708&postcount=23071

If you have troubles with the featured method, at reboot the problem persists and you can't see anything on external_sd, please check this post by ggs2:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=25000922&postcount=23230

« ¿Why the dock audio setting it's not included?

Unfortunately this feature it's not supported on AOKP ROM's we have to wait one update from the Kang Team

« I can't find my backup / Some apps storage the downloaded files on the external SD instead of internal / Other issues with storage like this one's ¿What can i do?

First of all this "issue" it's presented with users of Siyah Kernel, why? Remember the words of Gokhanmoral:

"changed “format /emmc” and “format /sdcard” to “format internal sdcard” and “format external sdcard” to prevent confusion. In CWM Recovery, /emmc is internal sdcard and /sdcard is the external."

That's on the changelog of RC6 and 3.1 as you can see here http://www.gokhanmoral.com/

We, on Resurrection, still have the structure with /emmc for the externa SD, so this maybe cause a confusion for some users, meanwhile an update from CM9 and Resurrection it's released you can use Thoravukk and Stock Kernel to avoid the "issue"

« Titanium Backup says: "Not Enough Space" ¿What can i do?

Please check this useful post courtesy of 078gregory:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=25216225&postcount=24665

« AdAway it's not working ¿What can i do?

deltasync have a solution for this issue, you can see on his post:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=25234765&postcount=24857

    -OTA UPDATES-

    - You will get a notification on your phone when a new version of RR ROM is available. You can download the ROM on your phone through the OTA updater.
    - For now, I have made the link to open in a browser as direct links for the ROM zip on file host might not work at times. I might change this to direct downloading of zips in the future.
    - Full ROM will be downloaded, not a delta zip.
    - I haven't tested flashing the ROM using the automated scripts in the OTA updater. Use them at your own risk. I advice you to open recovery manually and flash the ROM manually. If you do decide to test the OTA updater scripts and it works, share with the community.

IMPORTANT: If you come from another ROM, have some issues or want a really clean installation then follow the 'Extended steps to install the ROM' featured on the General FAQ

    - In case that you can't send SMS

    ⊗ General Information ⊗

« Extended steps to install the ROM

The steps on the OP are very clear but apparently some users can't get a properly installation so, here are the extended steps for the installation (personally i'm always use this method and never experienced any problem with RR):

Before of start please remember: If you have / wanna do a Titanium Backup the only safe things to restore when you flash a new version or the ROM are the non-system stuff and the user apps, the non-system stuff are write in Green text, but just restore the data not the app (Examples: SMS - APN - Bookmarks - Alarms). About the user apps, write on White text, you can restore the app+data. Never restore the system stuff, write in Red text, this can cause FC's and other bad behavior.

After finish your restore reboot the phone.

Another recordatory: It's recommended before of flash any ROM, made a backup of your EFS folder, this folder contains information about the IMEI, MAC, and other sensitive stuff of your phone, the suggestion it's use EFSPro or you can use KTool, remember that it's not enough with a copy/paste from the original folder. Information provided by raja.7k and Pigmachine

    Now, the steps:

NOTE 02/10: If you want a really clean installation, check this tip provided by @THE RED BLUR

    1. Reboot into recovery (Turn off your phone then press and hold the keys: Volume Up + Power + Home)
    2. Wipe Data / Factory Reset
    3. Install the Main ROM file
    4. In AROMA installer select "Custom Installation"
    5. Choose depending of your taste
    6. When AROMA installer finish untick the "Reboot Now" option
    7. When you're back on the recovery go to Advanced
    8. Wipe Dalvik Cache
    9. Fix Permissions
    10. Wipe Cache Partition
    11. Reboot
    12. When you get the step for add your Google Account, if you don't have a WiFi enabled or you can' add it, skip it
    13. When you boot into the system, it's probably that you don't have data enabled (3g, H+) just reboot the phone
    14. When you boot again into the system, the data will be enabled and you can do the configuration of Google Account (if you don't do this step before)
    15. This is the moment for install all the extras like themes, mods, fixes, kernels, etc.
    16. ¡Enjoy!

    « I'm have a several battery draining ¿Why?

dave7802 give us a very good explanation in this post

Of course that it's not everything, the kernel have a lot of "guilty" in this issue, after read the feedback of the users personally i think that the top for better battery is:

    1. CM10 Kernel
    2. DarkKnight Kernel
    3. Dorimanx Kernel
    4. Fluxi Kernel
    5. Siyah Kernel
There are more kernels of course but, again, this it's my top five based on the feedback. Also, this is very subjective, all depends of the customization that you made over the kernel and the most important, every phone and installations are different so, everyone have different results.

If you want more information about Governors, Kernels, Voltages, etc. please read this post

If you want some suggestions of configuration for Siyah Kernel take a look here

And if you want examples of configurations for various kernels go here

« ¿Where are the Call Recording?

Unfortunately Call Recording, until now, can't be ported to AOKP, but are alternatives, you can use the app Personal Call and Voice Recorder

« ¿Where are the Radio FM?

Resurrection Remix since the v1.2 it's based on AOKP and the radio can't be included, the most used option it's Spirit FM app, you can buy it on the Play Store or visit the original post of his creator here.

« ¿Where are the files of my External SD?

On Jelly Bean the external sd it's on the path /sdcard1, there are your files. You can access to this folder with any file explorer (even the stock one). Just open the file manager, select the "mnt" option on the top, the one between the Home icon and SD icon, inside you can find the /sdcard1 folder.

« The lights of capacitive buttons (Menu and Back) doesn't work properly ¿What can i do?

You can adjust the behavior if you are using any kernel compatible with the "BLN" function and the correspondant tweaker like: Siyah, Dorimanx or Dream-IRC Kernels + ExTweaks app or Fluxxi Kernel + xxTweaker.

« The vibration intensity for pulsations it's too high ¿How can reduce that?

By default it's not possible but, if you are user of Siyah, Dorimanx or Dream-IRC Kernels then you could reduce that via ExTweaks and, if you are using Fluxxi Kernel you can tweak this via xxTweaker app.

Please remember, ExTweaks only works with Siyah, Dorimanx and Dream-IRC Kernels

« My signal it's not the best / not work at all ¿What can i do?

Change your modem, you have several options here, here or here.

Just remember give it at least 2 days to settle down, then you can judge his performance.

Check this post, this is a very weird issue and that it's the most used solution.

    « ¿How can i change the bootanimation?

First of all, i know that are many apps on Play Store that let us make this change but, in the same way that with DPI i prefer make the changes manually always that it's possible so, here are the steps:

    1. Make a backup of the original Bootanimation located on the path /system/media the file it's called bootanimation.zip
    2. Download the animation that you want, on the Mirrors Index we can have some animations made by the users of RR.
    3. Rename the file that you download to bootanimation.zip (in case that the name be different)
    4. Copy the bootanimation.zip to your SD card
    5. Copy the file to the path /system/media, this process need to be made with some file explorer that let you change the permissions from 'Read Only' to 'Read and Write', personally i'm always working with Root Explorer (paid) but if you want, you can use ES File Explorer (free)
    6. Replace the original bootanimation.zip with the one that you download
    7. Reboot and enjoy

Also, in some of the bootanimations featured on the Mirrors Index i make flashable files through recovery so, this is another option to avoid the manual steps.

« ¿How can i change the font of the ROM?

There no are a default setting to make this change, but you can do it with the combo of ROM Toolbox and Font Installer

If that apps don't work for you, then try the following steps (Steps only for ICS versions):

    1) If you like either of system fonts from Windows (C:\WINDOWS\Fonts) so just drag the selected font to the specific folder, e.g. desktop.
    or
    2) Download your favorite fonts from the website(http://www.fonts2u.com/)
2-1) just copy the two types of font (especially font in bold is a must (e.g. Verdana.ttf and Verdana-Bold.ttf) to the device with path system/fonts using root explorer.
2-2) Change Mount R/W as Mount R/O (as you know).
2-3) Backup the Roboto-Regular.ttf and Roboto-Bold.ttf (because I believe default font in AOKP is Roboto which is a custom font in ICS version) to other folders, then go back to system/fonts to delete it directly.
2-4) Long click on the selected fonts (verdana.ttf) that you copy from, rename it as Roboto-Regular.ttf and set its permissions as 3R1W.
2-5) Then, just reboot the phone.

« ¿How can i get a notification count on my dock icons?

AOKP don't support this kind of notifications, but you have some alternatives:

1.- If you are using Go Launcher you can install their app Go Launcher EX Notification

2.- I know that it's not the same but you can activate the notification count on the status bar from Settings - R-ROM Control - Statusbar - General - Show Notification Count

Thanks to KeithOYS for the tips.
