Finally the double tap to wake now is slow (from double tap to screen on now is 1 second slower, giving you the feeling that you don't tap correctly the display).

I have noticed this one too. It's really annoying, because tap to wake used to be very fast. I have stock rom with root.

I'm also not happy with battery life of 20d. I primarily use G Pad for watching videos in bed and it lasted many many days in standby. My current drain is at least 6% per 12 hours without any usage (no wifi, nothing). Even my phone with more apps, Wifi/4G/BT on has lower drain (3% per 7 hours - but with smaller battery).
Worse is that there's no app to blame - nothing in Battery info, no excessive wakelocks/alarms, nothing... Wiping cache also didn't help.

I successfully did the same a few days ago. I you are already rooted then you have to do the following steps:

Step 3 from this thread http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2698267&nocache=1
You have to modify runme.bat before you run it The script checks for version V50020a / V50020b. So just change one of these values to V50020d. Otherwise the script will fail.

After that you can download and install 4.4.2-v500-TWRP_2.7.1.0-recovery.zip from this thread http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2551499 Be sure to grab the version for 4.4.2

I did not use flashify to flash recovery. runme.bat installs twrp 2.7.0.1 to your device. After that you can boot into twrp recovery and flash an updated version of twrp or flash a custom rom. To boot into recovery you can open a terminal emulator and type "reboot recovery". The message "insecure boot ...." is not really an error. This just means that you have a custom recovery installed.

I'm on 20d for some weeks now and all I can say is LAG. Unlock via smart case is lagged, screen rotation is BRUTALLY LAGGED, this ROM just feels pretty bad... Is there something wrong with my G Pad/ROM, or all 20d's are such? Is there any progress in custom stock KK ROMs? I think I will revert to a stock 4.2...

I dirty flashed, just cleared cache and dalvik cache. So far no issues. Nothing noticible different except the knock code.

I never had issues with my sd card unmounting. 64 GB sandisk.

No problems to report.

Of course, I made a backup first.?
I was on 20b, decided to flash Drgravy's 20d. Just like you did, I wiped cache/dalvik first (even though that seems to happen during the flash), and then dirty flashed 20d. But upon boot, it was stuck on the LG logo...maybe 5 minutes. I got back into recovery and flashed my 20b backup, so fortunately, I'm back to where I was. Can you think of anything else you may have done to get this to work? I could wipe data, but I'd rather not, especially since you say it wasn't necessary for you.

EDIT: It must have been a bad download. I chose a different mirror, and all is okay. I probably should be doing MD5 verification, but I never do. The first mirror may have been fine but just didn't get downloaded properly. Thanks to Drgravy for this .zip file.

your post was a lifesaver. I just received my Gpad today from eBay. Had 4.4.2 on it v50020d. I didn't know what to do!!! Just changed the "b" to a "d" and it worked flawlessly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! :highfive: :good: :laugh:

    before ask you, i've tried them but not success
    my Pad's rooted but when i run "runme.bat" to install recovery

    failed

    Sorry forgot to add this...

    You will need to modify the runme.bat file to make it run with 20d.

    There will be a section in the file that looks like this...

    if %FWVER%==4.4.2 (
    if /I %MODEL%==LG-V500 (
    if /I %FWBUILD%==KOT49I.V50020a (
    GOTO CheckSU
    )
    if /I %FWBUILD%==KOT49I.V50020b (
    GOTO CheckSU
    )
    )
    )
    echo.

    This is checking for the version of the 4.4.2 on the device and since the version on your tab is 20d it will error out...Just go ahead and change the V50020b to V50020d, save the file and try again.

    if people are still looking for a v50020D thats flashable in twrp
    could you please test this out?

    LG-V500_KOT49I.V50020D_US_Stock-BB-Rooted.zip ( if you do flash this please report back, Thanks)

    includes:
    twrp
    root
    busybox

    everything else left untouched

    this will probably have to be clean flashed!

    Think we can take this ota on stock 4.4 w/twrp installed? Or should I full wipe & do an update recovery via the flash tool? Be nice to just take it as I'm set up now.

    The last OTA caused serious problems for people who loaded it with an existing custom recovery. I wouldn't recommend it. If fact, personally, I would wait until somebody provides a fixed version that is compatible with TWRP and already rooted. If you really don't want to wait, then the safest bet is to go completely back to stock before installing this.
