PACman FAQ

PIE FAQ

Q. What is PIE?
A. PIE is a new way to interact with your notifications. It provides easy gesture based interaction with all your system information without taking up valuable screen space. PIE is what you see in this image.

Q. How do I access Pie?
A. Swipe your finger from the pie gravity edge (default is the bottom) toward the center of your screen. While keeping your finger on the screen, drag your finger to the desired button and release to click.

Q. My PIE doesn't look like the ones in the screenshots. I don't see the Clock or notifications.
A. Notifications work either through the status bar or PIE. If the status bar is enabled, PIE reverts to just the softkeys. To enable the full PIE experience, enable Expanded Desktop by going to Settings -> System -> Power Menu -> Expanded Desktop (Status bar hidden). Access the power menu and turn Expanded Desktop on.

Q. How do I change PIE colors?
A. Go to Settings -> Hybrid Properties -> Interface and change the Navigation bar color.

Q. Buttons or keyboard rows near the edge of my screen are nonresponsive.
A. PIE's trigger area overlay is covering the edge of your screen. Change either the trigger area or Pie Gravity in Settings -> System -> Pie Settings.

Q. I don't like PIE, how do I turn it off?
A. To disable PIE set Trigger Area to None in Settings -> System -> Pie Settings. Remember to disable Expanded Desktop to turn status bar on again.

ROM FAQ

Q.Do I need to do a full wipe before installing this ROM?
A. Unless coming from a previous version of PACman it is highly recommended to do a full wipe before installing. This includes coming from ParanoidAndroid ROMs.

Q.What do the settings in Hybrid Properties do?
A. ParanoidAndroid has an extensive guide to the settings at this thread: [GUIDE][PARANOIDANDROID] A Complete Compendium on ParanoidPreferences [PA-Settings] Please do not post questions related to PA Settings in this thread, they are not ROM specific and all we'll do is point you to that thread.

Q.Something isn't working. What do I do?
A. First, make sure you are running the latest stable version. For i9100 users, make sure you are using the latest Dorimax kernel, for i777 users stick with the CM kernel provided. That should solve half the problems. If it persists, backup data using Titanium and do a full wipe reinstall. If the problem persists, report what it is and what triggers it so the dev can duplicate it.

Re: [ROM] [PORT][JB 4.2.1][PA2.99][AOKP-MR1][CM10.1]P.A.C True All in 1 ROM[09/02][V1

Thank you icon. Will edit for feedback later

Edit: seems that the pa is the base. Some of the setting on romcontrol is not yet implemented or removed completely. Will test for a couple of days for stability and battery life. Looks awesome and have a working recent app :)

Great work keeping these ports available. This looks amazing to say the least, I was it on my HOXL lol, but I don't even have AOSPA yet so, once that is release for evita it will be possible for my main device.

Always liked PAC, now that its 4.2.1, this has al the features anyone could ask for, I haven't checked it out yet, but if v18 is an indication, it will me awesome.

I've been having some problems with Siyah 7.x lately (mostly USB mounting issues) so here's a version with today's CM Nightly kernel.

Unless there is significant interest I do not plan on continuing both versions. This is just to see if there is a noticeable difference between the two.
Thanks a lot for the CM kernel, I cant use Siyah on my phone, its absolutely unusable, have tried everything cant seem to figure out why. Now at least I have a kernel to try out some ports. Thanks again. Any chance I get just the kernel, would like to have a copy so I can try PA also.

Also, the difference between pa and this rom is that its PA base with extra features?
Edit- Never mind I just read the OP in detail.

This is the latest PA port with the same CM kernel, Feb 9 Nightly.

I haven't personally flashed that on my phone but it should be exactly the same as the PAC with CM. (Flashed about 20 times this morning and need to take a break.)

I don't have the time right now to compile a CM kernel zip that you can flash over a rom but I'll see if I can put something together in the next few days.

(Crossposting this to the PA thread.)

Can anyone confirm that most of the AOKP customizations aren't implemented yet? I didn't see any comments in that regard here or in the i9100 thread. Just want to make sure i don't have something funky going on from tibu user app restore.

Initial impression - this is a badass ROM!

What phone model are you using? (For example: Samsung Galaxy S2 AT&T i777)

Provide a link to one of the Rom's giving you problems.

Are you wiping system, cache and dalvik before flashing the Rom?

Are you flashing a kernel separately?

Yes, the kernel is included with the Rom. Which Rom are you running right now?

Also give this a try. It's the exact same Rom but I replaced Siyah with the latest CM kernel. For some reason Siyah doesn't take well to some phones. CM might work for you.

If you have the i777, boot to CWM Recovery and do the following AND NOTHING MORE!

  1. Wipe system
  2. Wipe cache
  3. Flash the Rom in OP
  4. Reboot.

That's all there is to it. Don't flash a kernel on top of this, everything is packaged and ready to go.

    PACman FAQ

    PIE FAQ

    We are now Official!

Thanks to @Sblood86 and @bluefa1con the i777 is now officially supported by Pacman! I have updated the OP with @Sblood86 buildbot. We have been having some issues getting it to boot correctly; I'll leave it to him to explain what's up with that though.

    Expect a 4.3 build soon!

Hey y'all... I've been talking with IconRunner and some of the PAC-man devs; got you guys an official build.

Missed the first round of nightlies cause apparently I can't type ;) but rc1 was posted to the pacman server last night.

So far all my random bugs have been resolved running this; I have working dockbar options in landscape (which I didn't before) and my gps is working fine. IconRunner was talking about trying to move this thread from ported development to development so we could maintain the history.

In the meantime if you guys are looking for something current you might want to grab the rc1 :D

Cheers and remember to thank IconRunner as I wouldn't have thought to push for official builds (I like nightlies :p ) if I hadn't played with the port first.
