I think everyone in the xda community is fully aware of this by now. Below I posted a link from the Evo 3D forums that contain a nifty little app written by Treve for removing this crap from our phones. You can download the app for free from Treve's thread that will show you EXACTLY what is going on in the background on your phone (damn you HTC/Google!). If you choose to remove this malware, he has a license key available on the Market that will universally remove it from any rom/HTC phone! It only costs $1 but is well worth it! I have used it successfully on my Evo 4g running Synergy, as well as my Evo 3D. One thing to note is, after uninstalling all of this malware, your phone will go into a series of force closes.....RELAX, all is well after a battery pull and reboot. That is just your phone's way of responding after getting that ugly "monkey" off it's back! Hope this helps all of my fellow Synergy rom brothers/sisters

i can also do this to my wife's phone which is running MIKFroyo

i just ran the app and removed everything. after pulling the battery due to HTCLoggers FC'ing, nothing seems wrong, and all the information supplied shows that the logging is now fully disabled.
I think also you can change/rename the updater to keep it from updating.
Using root explorer goto>system>app> then mount r/w then scroll downto marketupdater.apk > longpress and choose rename and rename the apk to bak > then remount r/o . Bada bing !

Haha, i was just getting ready to post that article. Anyways this is what i did to mine:
I dont trust that htc logger anyway so i changed the .apk to .bak to keep it from running
Using root explorer goto>system>app> then mount r/w > scroll down to the the htcloggers.apk then longpress it and select rename then rename the apk to bak . .* once you do this it will basically lock you out of youre phone by a popup message saying htcloggers has stopped unexpectedly, when you click the foreclose button the popup will not close out and the message pops back up immediately so that you can not access anything on youre phone, you ca not even power off the phone . So at this point just do a battery pull, put it back in and boot up phone
Hopefully this renders this part of their little spy operation unusable . But i am sure there are more other little backdoors with other apps and what not so perhaps this effort is futile .
You do know the iPhone has less features and in generally you can't do as much with it right? Talking about getting bored with a phone. You'll definitely get bored with that one... But I'm not judging...lol.

+1, I was an iPhone user before my EVO and the best thing about it was being able to dual boot some laggy Android, theres no porting or running different roms,only a few theme possibilities. So yeah expect to be bored in a month lol

Yep, you got rid of it allright! The fc's are normal, both of my Evo's did it until a battery pull and reboot. No more spyware for you.....congrats bro!

This is the first rom I've ever flashed and I frickin love it! Great work guys. I have always just used total stock w/ root. I switched up and flashed CM7 and Miui today, I ran back to Synergy! Using this w/ aggressive freedom kernel for godmode so I can oc. Its running great. Thank you for breathing new life into my phone.

Best Buy, as usually, is trying to rip people off...lol. Especially since Sprint was offering $125 which I still thought was laughable. I bought my 3vo for $100 on Amazon.com but sold my OG Evo(in excellent condition), case and 16mb(class 2) for $183 so I made out pretty well I think. That paid for my 3vo and then some. This was about a month ago but you can check ebay and see what the OG is going for now. People were getting decent bids for phones in all sorts of conditions.
I'm hearing good things about the Epic Touch, I just wish they'd shorten the name...lol.

FAQ:- Q: How come there are no addons or themes available in Synergy Updater?
A: You first must configure an Addon/Theme server. Do this by going to: menu | configuration | Addon/Theme Update Settings | Manage Addon/Theme Servers | Menu | Update Featured Addon/Theme Servers" Then check for Addons and themes and there should be a list presented.
- Q: When I apply an update through Synergy Updater, occasionally recovery doesn't apply the update and I get a screen with an exclamation mark
A: Clockwork Recovery has been tested to not be as consistent as Amon_RA's Recovery. At this time I recommend and use Amon_Ra's 2.3.* recovery which can be installed through RomManager or downloaded and installed manually from Amon_RA's thread.

53Synergy RC2 + GodMode Now Available
Synergy RC2 + GodMode is now available for download!
As you guys may have seen on the front page of xda-developers.com. Team Synergy has figured out how to increase file I/O performance on the EVO by replacing the default YAFFS2 filesystem with a YAFFS2+EXT2. Using EXT2 as the file system and YAFFS2 as the wear leveling layer.
The result is a 70 - 100% performance improvement. The Quadrant score below is with the stock non-overclocked kernel running Synergy + GodMode. For reference my Quadrant score with regular Synergy is between 1000 - 1200.
Please note that the current implementation of GodMode does not preserve data so upon flashing Synergy + GodMode data will be wiped. Please also expect 6 - 10 minutes to flash Synergy + Godmode.

41ok, found a solution to my 'carousel or widget zip' problem. i just put the new rosie.apk in the zip with the 3d widgets, replacing the old rosie.apk. runs SMOOTH AS BUTTAH! (nvm i hate it when people say that...) but it's seriously good.
edit: forgot not everybody followed the warm twopointtwo thread during the nightlys like me, so not everybody knows how to install
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: 1: boot into recovery, and wipe data, cache, and dalvik (yes, wiping data is neccesary, or you will get no widgets, evar!)
2: flash synergy

i also made a zip to remove the preinstalled swype and lib file, so you can easily use the beta, without all the root explorer and rebooting and stuff. the easiest way was to just replace the files with .txt files, so i didn't do all the delete_recursive commands, just to make it easier. still should work though. replaces the .apk and .so with blank text files....
