How to Flash:

In order for this to work, the HTC Incredible S needs to be S-OFF. Flashing the radio with a corrupt file or interrupting the flash, can brick the device, please proceed with caution.

  1. Download the your choice of radio for the HTC Incredible S.
  2. Make sure the filename is PG32IMG.zip exactly or it will not work and copy it to the same folder as adb (the /platform-tools folder within the Android SDK folder).
  3. Connect the HTC Incredible S to the computer via USB.
  4. On the computer, open terminal and run the following commands:
    Code:
    adb push PG32IMG.zip /sdcard/PG32IMG.zip
    adb shell md5sum /sdcard/PG32IMG.zip
NOTE: The md5 should match up the provide the original download location. If not, redownload & try again.
    Code:
    adb reboot bootloader
  5. The HTC Incredible S will reboot & usually boot into fastboot. Pressing the Power button will put the device into the bootloader.
  6. The bootloader will scan for the radio update. Once it finds the update, select Yes.
  7. Allow the bootloader to finish flashing the updated radio, and reboot the HTC Incredible S normally.

Can anyone share their experiences using these different radios?

I'm currently using 3805.04.03.22 but still getting 10-15 minute SMS delay when phone is set to GSM/3G auto, even though phone has full signal and is sitting in one place.

So I'm thinking of trying the latest one - is this likely to fix any issues? Are there ever changelogs for these radio updates?

Thanks.

It should probably be pointed out that the .22 radio is the latest radio for the European region (and is definitely the best one to be using in the UK, I'm using it myself). Radios for the HTC Incredible S are built to match the region the phone will be used in, so one with a higher version number won't necessarily improve your phone's performance just because it's "newer".

What's the best radio for Australian telco's?

Will flashing a different radio help my sms delay and missed calls problem or not?

I'm really at a the end of my patience with this.

It depends if it would help or not, I would advise you to try the .22 radio out even though its European. Can you let me know what radio does your phone have right now? You can check it by booting into hboot.

Because this awesome vivo community is still alive, I decided to re-upload all vivo radio's. So you guys can even compare more. You should expect a newer Radio is a better Radio, but it's a bit more personal.
