HTC Splash tool V1.0.2 WVGA (14.10.2010) by Barin
The original description from the author (Barin). Translated by AndrewSh. Link to original mobileug-thread.
The tool is designed to create a flashable boot splash image for the WVGA HTC devices and retrieve images from the original splash NB file

It's the first (boot) splash. Should be flashed separately. No OS interference.

- Possibility to use source images in BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG format (size should be 480x800)
- Possibility to create NB file from the image (picture) file
- Possibility to create NBH file from the image (picture) file
- Possibility to convert the NB splash file to BMP file (NB splash file should be extracted from rom for the device with WVGA - 480x800 resolution)
- Possibility to import settings from NBH files and save them to the registry for later use.
- Bilingual interface (English / Russian) - i will help to translate it to german
- Possibility to create Secondary BOOT splash if Your device supports it (select section code 0x6XX for secondary splash)

All operations with source files are performed using the "File" menu
Ready custom splash NBH file should be flashed to device with any Rom Update utility.

This is great! I actually just started messing with the splash and subsplash screens and have recently added them to my ROM. This will make things that much easier. Thanks!

Hello,

This is really nice and very useful tool which I have been hoping for.

I have a lil problem. When I import my ROM (NBH), it doesn't read/show the splash screen present in the NBH.

HTML:
G:\ROM_Dev\My_Kitchen\CR192_DHD\WM_6.5\Release\CR192_DHD_v6.5.3.0.9_beta\CR192_DHD_v6.5.3.0.9_beta\bin\RUU_Signed_0409.nbh:

ROM file is signed
DEVICE: PB8112000
CID: T-MOB010
Version: 3.14.531.1
Lang: USA

Data chunk: 0x10000

[Sections]
0x0600 offset=0x00000200 length=0x000C0000 - PrimarySplash
0x0400 offset=0x000C0200 length=0x0CDED200 - OS

No idea why or Am I doing something wrong?

The splash screen has been inserted by osKitchen and works well on device when flashed.

BTW; if I extract the splash.nb from the NBH using HTC ROM Image Editor and open with this tool (HTC Splash Tool), it shows fine.

Thanks...
Best Regards

It does not import spash data itself from nbh, but nbh parameters only.
To create splash file you need to open bmp or other type of image and then build NB or nbh file (with imported parameters - CID, Version, etc.)
To extract image from NB you need to open NB file.

Read the first post ;)

Ah now I got it. Import from NBH is for importing parameters only and also its under NBH parameters. My bad :p

Thanks...

LOL guys i never saw this one. I was using POF's nbimg.exe for ages now and even did a little guide on it for others to use as POF doesn't seem to support it much anymore these days.
Thanks Barin for a nice 1A toy! :D

And thanks HD2Owner for puttin' it up here mate. Good on ya.
