1) if you have altered efs from version 1 to version 2 by flashing an mg* rom or newer, you must use an mg* modem or newer. Mg* modems can read efs v1 and efs v2. Older modems can only read efs v1.
The only way to use an older modem is to restore efs to efs v1 using a backup taken whilst you had efs v1 (ie before flashing an mg* rom that updated to efs v2)
if your efs backup is an efs v1 backup and you still can't use an older modem, well then lets assume your backup is faulty and that you have no efs backup
2) imei is NOT corrupt. It just cannot be read by an older modem (efs v1) because you have efs v2.
If the ME7 rom does not come with a modem, the existing modem from mg5 rom (mg2 modem) will remain and will read imei.
Now, if ME7 does come with a modem, its an efs v1 modem and cannot read efs v2 (which you have).... so you need to flash an efs v2 modem....

Don't beg for thanks. The "Thanks" feature exists so that important threads are not cluttered with pointless "thanks" posts. Receiving thanks is not an achievement, nor should it be your goal.
