hi 2 all
I want to install it on my viewpad 10s 3g and i have afew questions about this rom
1-can we use 3g mode with this rom?
2-how about battery usage?
3-does it need to swipe micro sd card for installation?

UPDATE 1

New Update:

UPDATE 1 - This "should" resolve the random reboot problems we have seen

update-a4-lp2idle-crash-fix.zip

THIS UPDATE FIXES NOTHING ELSE (before you ask)

Please test this and let me know 2 things

1. Does it stop random reboots
2. If so over the next few days, power consumption, bad or good, same..

This is in CWM recovery update format ... for those who cant get to CWM recovery, you will need to use nvflash

1 get nvflash, extracting the archive from Alpha 1,2 or 3 will give it to you ..
2 extract the update file above
3 put tablet into APX (flashing) mode
4 launch terminal and from the dir with nvflash in it write in terminal

nvflash --bl bootloader.bin --go -w
nvflash --resume --download 7 /my/location/to/new/boot.img

If your in windows you'll probably have to add .exe to the nvflash command and C:\path etc to the rest, im sure you can work it out

I have been testing the fix, no reboots so far!

I have i strange problem with skype, everything is sounding very low. Its creepy :-o

yes ill be looking at that soon .. had the same issue on hdmi audio so i assume the same fix will apply :)

update2 is released too btw .. fixes some game crash issues and camera works after suspend ..

1. not yet
2. great as far as i can tell . no complaints yet
3. no, sdcard is safe .. nvflash will wipe internal nand flash though so backup data if you need

Just installed this on my Vega previously running HoneyIce...

WOAH! this is so much faster and makes it feel like a new tablet, amazing work Cass!

Can't wait for more updates!

Wifi should work fine now, a new library and framework has been created
to enable Wifi to work properly .. However .. Wifi is slow to resume from
sleep.. you may have to toggle Wifi off/on to have it resume .. If you wait
it returns no problems.. its just a bit slow.

Interesting!
I have the exact same problem in STOCK ROM.
After display unlock, WiFi instantly turns on and then off, and after 3-5 seconds it turns itself on and stays on.
But after around 10 unlocks WiFi doesn't turn on and I need to go into WiFi settings and manually turn it off and then on.

Rom is fresh to death! compared to stock froyo, my viewtab 10s flys like a rocket! if only wifi would resume flawless, it would be awsome!

Thanks to all Dev´s who made my cheablet fly! :D

I'm also running the ICS Beta1

What I'm finding recently on my Vega is that if the tablet sleeps for a long period of time (Not sure of the length yet... but maybe over an hour)
Then I find that the tablet has actually powered off.

It's not that I have to long hold the power button to power it off first.


For Example, it went to sleep earlier today (short press of power button so that screen goes off)
Then, after about an hour of not using it, I pushed the power button, and it started up.... but did a full boot so that I saw entire startup sequence.


Is this what other people are finding, or do experiences vary?


Also:
1)Sound quality is terrible on headphones, its really quiet and at higher levels its distorted, on the stock rom it was fine. It was just as bad on vegacomb though :/
2) Wifi rarely connects after sleep, i have to disable and renable wifi which doesnt always work, (vegacomb was fine here)
3) When its sleeping the power button doesnt always wake it, sometimes it randomly powers off?
4) when playing music / video it skips alot , youtube/netflix/ stuff on sd card

Submit the logs to pastbin as requested by the dev to help fix 3G.

Are you using a male-to-male (A) cable as required? If so, see if the hardware is detected in device manager & download the latest usb driver from nvidia.

    Synopsis
    ========

    This is the first Beta build of ICS for the vega and other tabs like it.
    This should now be feature complete and deserving of an upgrade from Alpha status.
    This is very stable and nice to work in from my point of view, nothing i can see
    as major that will prevent you having a nice experience.

    Work is based on Android 4.0.3

    This Beta build is in NVflash format only, i could not be bothered yet
    to create a CWM update file yet as its still to early for me to care
    for that.. Just execute this in the normal fashion from windows.
    Or extract it and do from linux for all you penguin lovers out there..

    Features
    =======

    Most of the large dirs in /system are now squashfs files, this is to save on space.
    You need to use squashfs with gzip support if you are to play with them. Kernel must
    also have squashfs support included.

    The dir that contains WiFi firmware and kernel module has been relocated to /system/etc/misc/
    this is to ensure of the minimum file size of any update we make to the kernel and provide to you.. It makes not difference as its linked back to its proper place.

    tun.ko for vpn can be found in /system/etc/misc/ too, linked back to the proper place.

    For all other libs you need to add, add them to /system/vendor/lib, they will be picked up.

    Yeah were working on that. Not an easy fix :-( apparently there is an app that workaround it.. Screenlock or similar from mktplace.
