[KERNEL][XL] Extended Stock Kernel v6 [9/6/14]

Hey all. This kernel is for those who want stock 4.2.2 kernel with recovery and root.
First time users with no recovery can fastboot flash boot.img and then flash zip from recovery.
Note: Unlocked Bootloaders Only

* zImage compiled from latest stock sources
* Autoroot with latest superuser (clockworkmod binary)
* Auto-Install busybox
* Boot into cwm recovery ( 6.0.4.8) via keypress
* init.d support
* No other bull****

ps i want to restore ota update capability

pps unlocked bootloader disable ota updates? i got "modified software" error message in UpdateService

Flash stock firmware with flashtool or ~~this~~ [ our device doesnt support sin boot images

Just flash stock rom to revert and then relock it ]

Yes.. If you come from stock kernel, you must flash kernel with flashtool or fastboot or flashgordon. You can flash custom kernel with CWM if you not in stock kernel.

No, sir. In stock, just wipe menu available i think.

yup. reboot, wipe cach, factory reset, adb-update and boot into fastboot mode.

I have unlocked bootloader installed this kernel now i want recovery can anyone help please. The other custom kernels break my wifi any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

you have to flash the kernel that breaks wifi so you can have CWM, then install this ROM, then flash the extended stock back to have wifi.

When v2 is released in the next few days, you will have to flash the kernel that breaks wifi to get CWM, then install v2, then flash the extended stock back to have wifi.

Only way to have wifi and be able to flash is flash the different kernels to get CWM to flash then back to get wifi.

changelog v3: since we're using unlocked bootloader, so :-

* compiled from stock .17 sources with minimal changes ( only patched to fix recovery and make it compile )
* integrated cwm
* updated superuser app and binary
* stock .17 ramdisk
* ro.secure=1 ( =0 can break things )
* /system and /rootfs mounted as read only for security

this is one of very few reasons why one should buy unlocked devices
