I cannot confirm that: everything works with 62 on my One.
Did you install ARHD dirty or with full wipe?
Tried it with the Kernel of ARHD?
For ARHD 53 the one for 51 on OP should be the correct.

I have been trying this on my rooted stock HTC One and the Nfc.apk keeps reverting. I cannot push with adb, so have been using ES File Explorer (in root mode). I successfully copy the new Nfc.apk, delete the Nfc.odex, match the permissions for the apk (rw-, r--, r--) and reboot. When I boot up again it has reverted to the original Nfc.apk (confirmed by md5 checksum). I was using the ARHD 71 version since my stock phone is 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0.
Any ideas?

23I modified the Nfc.apk of different bases and ROMs to offer you the ability to use the NFC chip of your HTC One not only while you are active but also while the screen is off and/or while the lockscreen is shown.
You have three options when to use NFC:
- lockscreen and screen off
- lockscreen
- unlocked
USAGE
- Rename the Attachment to Nfc.apk
- Backup your /system/app/Nfc.apk and Nfc.odex (if existing)
- Delete /system/app/Nfc.odex (if existing)
- Replace the original in /system/app - to keep permission use adb:
- adb remount
- adb push Nfc.apk /system/app
- Reboot phone (adb reboot)
- Disable NFC
- Enable NFC
The compatibility depends on the framework/base. If your ROM has the same specifications like one existing you can use the posted.
If none of the version work (test it!) make an Feature Request

yes since the system folder gets rewritten with the new roms system folder in the zip
