Recovery: TWRP 2.8.1.0 (tested 2.8.0.1)
Just flashed latest Sprint "RUU_JEWEL_CL_JB43" to update the partition.

I would really like to try this rom. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried reading through this post and looking online but found nothing.

Edit: I've tried Full Wiping (&Clearing d/cache) before and after. Plus multiple reboots.

Where did you get the recovery? It should work if you used captain throwback's modified twrp,

Are you able to run other ROMs?

Based on what others have said, as well as my own experience with the ROM, the 8.1 builds seem to be the most stable.

Oh and you're not flashing a separate kernel, are you? If so, don't.

I was using the TWRP from the official site. The captain's TWRP fixed the issue and also resolved other kwirks I had with the latest official TWRP.

Time to bring new life into this phone.
(Just finished cracking my new M8 so my Evo is now a nice test device.)

So then i would need to look for a different launcher then? i can't find the option to add shortcuts on this launcher.

Well that's because I'm trying to add a file from my SD card rather than a shortcut to an app. I actually downloaded another launcher and it worked fine. I was just wondering if the default DU launcher had this capability so I didn't have to use an alternate launcher.

Does anybody have a copy of the final kk version of this rom that they wouldn't mind sharing just until 9.X gets a little more settled. Or give a recommendation on a stable kk rom for now?

Had a lot of moving around and we combined a few orgs we had pre-gerrit and so I will compile another build for this version v8.2 and reopen the thread then

For now, I'll close the thread to avoid any issues........thanks :)

    Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.​

    Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.

    In case anyone is wanting to test run a 4.4.4 build, I went ahead and push one out in the G+ community....

    Disclaimer, you're not forced to join the community or participate. You can download the test build without even joining G+ but we do ask that you keep bugs reports on there and not post them here :)

    We will go ahead and push out a 4.4.4 update on here once everything is deem stable across all officially supported devices.
