Hello friends, sorry for the hassle, wanted to know if ROM ViperOneM8 support my htc_m8x with (cid 621) My firmware is 4.16.709.9
And another question that recovery (TWRP) is compatible with my phone?
You must have the S.Off (sunshine) ?

When your firmware is 4.xx.xxx.x, then all Sense lollipop base custom ROMs are compatible with your device.
Use only TWRP 2.8.4.0 or 2.8.5.0
S-Off is not mandatory

I have just read that Sunshine apparently only works on pre lollipop firmware and roms so you might be stuck for the time being s-on if you ota'd.

Oh man, that sucks. Information from Sunshine developers is so sketchy. But I'd tried Sunshine on kitkat and it still didn't work, then I decided to upgrade. Hope that a downgrade is still viable via stock nandroid backup.

Downgrade only works if you have s-off, if you already ota'd to latest hboot you have to wait for sunshine 3.0 which should be out soon...also only stock Rom and stock kernel are working perfectly fine with sunshine, custom roms and kernels often fail

And what is the latest hboot, 3.19.0.0000 ??? I think I had that before on Kitkat and it hasn't changed not that I'm on Lollipop

Hello guys today I found a site with a bunch of RUUs, including an old RUU for the M8x, that saved my day, I'm downloading it right now...

Update: I downloaded 0P6BIMG_M8_UL_K44_SENSE60_SECURITY_hTC_Asia_TW_1.54.709.4_R_Radio_1.15.2133156.UA14G_20.18n.4096.05_release_358414_signed_2_4.zip copied and renamed it to 0P6BIMG.zip and tried to install it from a microsd card and the error I get from fastboot is "device halted due to large image update fail" any advise? File size is around 1.8GB.

Additional info:
MID is 0P6B11000
CID is HTC__621
it's S-ON
Bootloader unlocked
and has a Lollipop nandroid backup of an european M8.
I read around that probably the RUU is detecting a newer OS is that true?
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP PLEASE!

Hi. Did you ever get your question answered??

I personally have downloaded this 'RUU' even from the Baidu site and I've never gotten it to work no matter what I did. Instead, prefered to restore from stock nandroids for the HTC__621, and if I was converting back from GPE, there are clearly stated instructions to first flash the corrent firmware to restore the partitions, then restore a nandroid back.

So what excatly were you having an issue with??

    Thanks mwang also, I am downloading it now, hard to register to download on that site being in Chinese lol, no translation worked but got there in the end, if your having issues Chaser51 downloading it I will re-host it on MEGA once I have it if you need it? The other Nandroid I originally used no longer works on my M8x for some reason it fails during install so I need this also.

    I am curious Chaser51, how did you achieve S-Off, I assume you 1. Unlocked your bootloader then 2. Flashed TWRP and rooted your stock ROM then 3. Used Firewater?

    Also is your M8x a 32Gb Model and what colour?

    Hi, you can't open the files because they are encrypted.

    I get the RUU files for VODAP102 and HTC_102 from a friend who works in a service center and there is the same problem. but it works over otg and sdcard.
    and without s-off you can't do a downgrade. i think that the mainversion on your device is higher than from the file or because the mainversion is in your getvar output corrupt: HTC ONE 8Mx HTC__621 Ship rom 0P6BIMG_M8_UL_K44_SENSE60_SECURITY_hTC_Asia_TW_1.5 4.709.4_R_Radio_1.15.2133156.UA14G_20.18n.4096.05_ release_358414_signed_2_4.zip

    I had this problem sometimes with inserted sdcard when my m8 was s-on. Try "getvar all" without sdcard. If this works you can try an update with otg cable. But you need for this an y otg cable with charger connector.
