Hi lbloo,

If you find anything on GCz. please let me know.

----------

Hi emmfan,

>>I did encounter one bug on both the Fuze and Tilt. When I searched for caches near my
>> current location, it would not list caches that were less than 0.5 miles, even though I
>> knew they were right there. I'll try some more and see if it happens regularly.

Thas is very interesting issue.
Please tell me which cache is it? (GCxxxxx)

I will set the dummy GPS location near the cache and test it.

GCz is on the half way to the goal.
I will implement Offline mode next phase.

Please keep trying GCz and feedback anything. ;D

regards,

tom

Hi emmfan

I checked the issue.

I set the dummy GPS location to my device.
--------------
Lat: 33.6818
Lon: -117.81057
--------------

Then press "Search for Nearby" button.
GC118Y0, GC11KH0 and GC11K13 exist on the cache list.
(please see the attach picture.)
The cache list seems same below result.
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?lat=33.6818&lng=-117.81057&dist=25

So, could you check GCz option?
Menu >> Option >> Caches >> "Show All or Hide finds"

if you already found the caches and checked Hide finds.
The cashes would not be on the cache list.

anyway, thank you for your report!! ;D

regards,

tom

Tom

Oka, but then I have a question, what is the difference? Because I get for example the nearby list and that is, I think, also a download from the internet?

Hi Bitte ein Bit

I did below to reproduce the issue.

1) Set Dummy GPS Location near "GC1H3D3"..
2) Press "Search for Nearby Geocaches" button.
3) Get the cache list. (Pic 1)
4) Select "GC1H3D3".
5) Get the cache detail. (Pic 2)

again

1) Set Dummy GPS Location near "GC1GXY9".
2) Press "Search for Nearby Geocaches" button.
3) Get the cache list. (Pic 3)
4) Select "GC1GXY9".
5) Get the cache detail. (Pic 4)

It seem no problem to me.

You said before,

>> I received the list with nearest caches.
You mean, you did use "Search for Nearby Geocaches" button? (GPS)

>> But when I searched for a cache (searching for geocaches)
>> or open one of the caches on the nearest-by list, I get the message “Cache not found.”

I input "GC1GXY9" to textbox ("search by Geocache Code") then click "Go".
and get Cache detail as same as above (Pic 4).

I have not got your issue yet. please explain your steps to reproduce it.

thank you

tom

by the way, which version of GCz you are trying?

Hi Tom,

I make 2 actions.

First start the list caches nearby. The list is produced. But when I want to open one of the caches on the list, I get after a while the message "Cache not found".

Second action is searche for a cache by input "GC1GXY9" on the main screen then "go" and after a while I get the message "Cache not found". I didn't get pic 4.

After reading the post about WAP and Proxy I asked my son this evening. He thinks that that could be the problem. I need to change a setting by my provider. Something with "speed-manager" on/off.

I use the latest version of GCz.

Hi Tom,

It is what my son thought. T-mobile users need to shut down Speed-manager, otherwise the cache pages wil not open.

So it works fine for me now.

Founded a little bug! :)
As you can see, GCZ does not show the cache with {b&b} in the name.
My search was made using zip/postal code "10146 turin".

First off, AMAZING software! I really enjoy using it.

However I have noticed a few bugs:

1) When you manually put in a GPS coordinate as your target and hit convert, it is not converting to the right thing... it is consistently like 50 miles off target so maybe you want to check the math there.

2) In Heading -> Head Up mode, it always is exactly 180 degrees off. Like if I'm going east, it says I'm going west and the arrow points in the wrong direction. Touch Pro if that matters.

That's the only problems I've got so far, otherwise it's great!

P.S. - using version .26

    ver 0.2.35.61

    Hi

    Ver 0.2.35.61

    1) "Sort by" => "Cache" => "Member Only" menu added.
    2) "Exclude Member Only cache from result" option added.
    (Option => Search Settings)

This works for English version only.
To test, rename "GCzII.exe.04xx.mui" if use Language skin.

I will build Language skin on weekend if no issue.

    Thanks

    tom

    PS) Need help translation!!!

English: "Exclude Member Only cache from result"
    German: ""
    French: ""
    Czech: ""
    Japanese: "Member Onlyキャッシュを検索結果から除く"

Probablly, the big wave has come at GC.com.
The new changes might be huge impact for GCz.
(Don't know what happen after the maintenounce.)

The first release date of GCz is Dec/17/2008.
So, it was 2 years ago. Time is faster!!

I always tried to fix problems as soon as possible.
And I've got lots of feedback to improve GCz from members here.
I really appriciate all of you!!

Now, I have not decided yet what will continue or dis-continue to work for GCz.
It depends on the side effect of the maintanouce.

I hope, it will not be catastrophic destruction.

    thanks

    - Change strings "F:10/D:2.5/T:1.5" instead of "F:[10] D:2.5/T:1.5" in Cache List.

    thanks
