[help] broken usb

Hello guys
I have a broken usb port in my phone
I am saving money to pay for repairs
In the meanwhile
Can I root the phone and install Twrp recovery?
I really wanna try the omnirom

But in lack of usb I can't use my pc in any way :eek:

Use internet, download required files and flash.
or else use someone else's phone, copy files into other device
send it to yours through bluetooth or superbeam
flash it in recovery.
required files are available for download in development and discussion threads. :)

Try to make an update zip for stock recovery and push the modified recovery to system. Dont ask me how.. search it. Else wait for usb fix.

Either you create an update zip as D mentioned that will flash a new recovery or you root the device using another method first and then flash from terminal. Making an update zip might be tricky though, most stock recoveries only accept packages signed with a certain key, but you can always try.

Hey sorry for asking this offtopic question.....

If your Micro USB is broken in your phone then how you are charging your phone :confused:.....

And coming to ur question as Adam told all the Samsung Devices are having Unlocked Boot Loaders, so you just need to flash CWM / TWRP.....for flashing OMNI ROM..

Just sharing, when my usb slot was broken, i charged my device with a charger called butterfly charger. everytime i had to pull out battery and insert it into butterfly charger and it used to charge the battery. Actually it used to pass electric charges from electric switch to battery directly.
he might be doing something similar.:)

    Why on Earth would you have to unlock the bootloader? This is Samsung, it's an open device.
