I don't think it is the carrier 's problem. When I am at home, my wife's S4 (also Tmobile) gets 4G and my S3 just get Edge. It has been like that for over a week. I used to get 4G at home too. I will contact Tmobile, but I just want to confirm with you guys if I will be blamed that I rooted my phone.

It's highly possible that it's a tower issue causing that. Call T-Mobile to be sure. But also make sure you've rebooted, and also test it from another location, preferably several miles away.
