External SD file killer
First off I'm new to the forum so I hope I'm posting in the right place.
I'm having trouble with my SGS3. Recently I bought a new Kingston 64GB Class 10 micro SD card. I reformatted it upon inserting it in my device for the first time. Then I've copied all my photos from the internal storage to the SD card, all of which became corrupted and couldn't be opened neither in the phone nor on the computer. They still have a file size, but when opened in a hex editor show all 0's. Then I reformatted the card and added some music files. Worked fine. Added some more, and most of them turned up as "Unknown artist" in my library and couldn't be played. I took the card out and connected it directly to my PC to find that those files too were ruined. I then reformatted it for a third time, and copied files directly to it from my PC. I played every single one of them from on the PC from the card while inserted, all of them worked. Then I removed the card and inserted it in my phone, same story. A lot of unknown artists, unusable, and after putting the card in my PC again, the files were unplayable by the PC now too. The card shows up on the phone but seems to kill most of the files I put on it, but only AFTER being scanne dby the phone. My 16GB card works fine.
I don't know what's causing this, or what to do. I've tried different media scanners, no avail.
I'm running 4.1.2. and have successfully rooted it.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
